Sorry but I truthfully believe it isn’t 120 even if it says it. This game engine isn’t designed to handle 120 fps. It may say 120 but I guarantee it’s still 60
Nope. The information comes from the monitor and the PS5. I just recently switched from 2K @60Hz and I can tell the difference.
I also recently obtained an Xbox X and it is also running the game at 4K @120Hz.
My Xbox Series S is arriving tomorrow. I'm going to download the show 22 on gamepass and link it to my PS4 gamer tag.
This should allow me to have my full team and practice for a couple weeks, right?
What settings (if any) do I need to change on my monitor to make sure I'm getting the 120HZ speed? Is it 4K too?
I have the BENQ GL2450-B, and on the back it says "rating 50/60HZ" Does this mean I won't even get to utilize the full benefit of next gen console with this monitor?

That’s correct. Your monitor is 2K and can go as high as 76Hz. The game will more than likely run at 1080P @60Hz with that monitor. If you end up getting a new monitor, make sure it is 4K and has a 2.1 HDMI port. That way, down the line, you will be ready for 4K @120Hz. The S will go to 1440P @120Hz which is still 2K but higher than your monitor.
If you do go shopping for a new monitor, pay attention to the lag and response times. The lower the number the better. You can find most newer TV and monitor ratings at https://www.rtings.com/

Thanks everyone.
I'll look at the 120hz and 1ms monitors for 2023.
I've seen higher than 120hz, is that for future MLB The Shows? i don't want to buy 120 right now and have to buy 150 next year.
The PS 5 or XBox X won't go over 120 FPS. You're safe until the next generation of consoles are produced.

Far as I know if the game doesn't support it then you are not getting above 60hz. Unless someone has a fps tracker on their monitor to prove it. What more games needs is VRR which would unlock the fps.
You can however decrease input lag dramatically with a monitor and plug in controller. I do have a monitor and noticed a difference but I like playing on the 65 inch LG which is pretty solid but has a little more il.
-
I have a 1080p 120hz monitor for my XBOX series S and it is locked at 120 fps with the exception of post game celebrations and highlight reels. It dips substantially during those.
-
I also have the same but but with the series X and noticed a difference but again how do you know it's locked at 120? Need some nerds to fully test this [censored] out.

I will post pics of mine later today. 4K @120FPS

Cool. I'm not calling anyone full of [censored] btw. If it's possible I might buy a new TV lol.

Mlb the show is not at 120 fps. All you have to do is search what games play at 120 on a ps5 or Xbox X. The game is not 120 compatible and won’t be until they go strictly next gen.
No one listen to this clown they have no idea wtf they’re talking abou

Okay. Here is a little footage and pics of both the XBox and PS5 running 4K at 120 FPS. Interestingly, the XBox FPS varied whereas the PS5 did not. Both of these are on an LG C2.

can you tell me if this Asus monitor is up to par?

I'm looking for the cheapest with the 120hz, HDMI2, and 1ms
Thanks!

It looks nice. The response time is excellent. It will give you 2K @120Hz.

I have almost the same model from ASUS but older. These tend to have no audio output and the speakers in the monitor are garbage. While this looks like a good price, remember...you get what you pay for. I would suggest spending just a little more for better quality.

This price looks good. Is it ok if this is not HDMI 2.0?

I have the C7 so it might be time to upgrade. My issue is it's a pain in the azz because my set up is all mounted . But it would be worth it for 120 4K.

That 50/60 Hz refers to the AC line frequency coming out of the wall. In North America we run 60 Hz, in Europe it is 50 Hz. So the monitor is universal and can work anywhere in the world. It is not telling you what refresh rates are possible.
If you look at other electrical equipment in your house you will find virtually every one of them will have the 50/60 Hz label by the power plug because almost everything built these days is made to accept either 50 or 60 AC power.

In the past, SDS stated on these very forums that online play is capped at 60 fps. The 120 offline limit was very noticeable on my PS5 and the difference playing online was a stark one. SDS also stated here that Xbox VRR “may have slipped through the cracks” and allowed 120 online, but I cannot personally confirm if that’s still the case. I only have a PS5.
I haven’t seen anything about 23 yet. Their communication on issues like this has been poor in the past. Hopefully that changes.
