If they add dh (a year late), and they remove the shift, I wouldn't bet on anything else being added in this years game.

They won't remove the shift or implement the DH because that would mean they have to reprogram the game.

It's really hard to see them not implementing it. I think having it in real life now has opened a lot of eyes, I know it did mine, I can't imagine going back in RL. It seems to be more popular an opinion then traditionalists now.

I dig the enthusiasm. I’m always excited when the new game comes out. I am hoping they do a solid upgrade on Mini seasons and bring back TA.

Since I'm not 100% sure, I won't argue over it. Guess time will tell. I hope we keep the pitcher in the lineup.

Guys, DH is a switch in their game … it is in there. They could patch that into 22 and will put it in, if they want. Same implies for the shift (I turned shifting off in DD, so this switch is actually in the game right now).
Regarding the switch: That is being modified and not banned. You can still have your infielders in certain areas that benefits defense. You are not allowed to put Infielders on the outfield grass and the SS/2B have to stay „on their side“ of the infield (but they could be pretty close to straight behind 2B). I am wondering if they program this modified shift in 23 having no data where the real clubs position their guys

It wouldn't take much to make Diamond Dynasty DH only... just something they would do on the backend just like when they finally added multiple lineups... the lineups in DD would have a spot for the DH much like Franchise. From a realism standpoint it just makes sense to go DH-only in Diamond Dynasty... and yes ofcourse it would be a year late as the game was already in development... now if you still have to hit with the pitcher this year that would be disappointing but that means DH-only in DD would be guaranteed for MLB The Show 24... there's no way they don't update the game this year or next to fall in line with the current rules... they added the ghost runner in extra innings and I imagine if you play Franchise the 2 out of 3 Wild Card format will be in this year as well.

I’m in agreement with you sir! I was a traditionalist until I saw it IRL. Now I don’t wanna go back to the pitcher hitting. If they put that stupid pitch clock in the game, then the DH should be in as well.
