Max elevation, loughing-mountain, etc. …. are just bad for a game. It feels like „MLB The Show Jam Arcade“ to play there. Create an arcade mode if you (and people) want to play such stadiums, but playing there is not a baseball sim

While I agree "the show" is regressing to triple play baseball play wise, I am curious as to where you would want the online games to be?

I actually prefer the minor league stadiums, and rotate between the ones I am not in while chosen by the other online player because it's a change from the MLB stadiums I am in while playing online. Would you prefer they have just one generic stadium, a choice of the MLB parks, or something else?

I really like playing at the cornfield, but don't choose it online because I have heard it's glitchy for online play, but also like Crosley from the classic stadiums because the street behind the fence is very similar to the small town I once lived in.

    No thanks

Would rather lose 10-15 than 2-1.

    Much more fun

First of all: I am german, so excuse the nerf 🙂 (but I gladly read a few german sentences from you with google translate 😉 )
here are my solutions solutions and I try to focus on ranked, where there should be a competitive baseball sim

    1. Fix the game so that it is still a baseball sim game. SDS did nothing about that from 21 except lowering elevation for the popluar shippet stadium.
Loughing mountains is a joke and so are all the other stadiums at max elevation. You can hit HR without even touching the ball, (very) late and (very) early … I get those HR even on perfect releases.
I do not know the exact reason for this but it feels like the ball is +20mph faster off the bat.
    2. Put in a elevation cap on all the stadiums there are (if you cannot fix it in no 1)
    3. Put in 1-3 stadiums to choose from (which sounds really bad)
    4. Make all stadiums sim ones. Nobody plays mlb stadiums because of bad net coding. Make them better

I used to play at Franco Field, because imo you gotta earn those HRs there. I stopped because I had lots of perfects die at the wall (with max power players).
Last year I liked Field of dreams but this year it lags too much (see 4 above)
The last few games I played at shippet. It plays better than last year, but still has fluke HRs

To the other fun people: That is it for ranked. You can have „fun modes“ like events etc., they could allow those crazy stadiums there but not in competitive ranked (imo)

Sorry, but I don't want the game to be a sim. That makes player input is meaningless and I end up grinding for nothing.

I don't think it is fair for me to have Greg Maddux, who was arguably the greatest control pitcher of his era to have multiple perfect release points on pitches in a game only for SDS to say "NOPE! Our pre game sim said you lost, and you are winning right now, so we need to have you give up a bunch of free homers to the other guy so our sim matches.

That is not what I meant, sorry. Input should matter … and to be precise: good/perfect input should matter (on either side).

On the other side: A more usable Maddux would be nice 🙂

I didn't get 22, but on 20 his signature series card is really strong.

I played there two days ago … got absolutely dominated by Randy… only 1 bad fluke hit in 8. In the 9th, down 1, I hit a perfect with Joe Torre … that died at the wall. So sad 🙂 …. Do you think it plays good? I switched stadium after that

I only played 21+22. Nobody plays with Maddux when end-game is here. The dominating pitchers in 21 for me were DeGrom, Corbin Burnes, Nolan Ryan, JV und Kershaw.
In 22 it is Randy, DeGrom, Nolan, JV and Kershaw (people have seen too much of Corbin 🙂 ).
Velo and a hard slider do matter

I feel like you are kind of hard to please. You don’t want max elevation stadiums because too many swings are rewarded with HR, but you hate all the other stadiums because your PP swings are outs at the wall.

I think a lot of us prefer the higher elevation stadiums for that reason.

Maybe that wasn‘t clearly enough explained.
I like dying perfects at the well much more than late-hit 450ft no-touchie HRs.

I derailed my own post by myself. The point is: Max-elevation helps bad hitting way too much and feels too much arcade. That should be nerfed.

The „Torre-story“ was a bad example, because it wasn‘t the stadium alone. Randy was max confident.

There are enough baseball games out there that aren’t sim. Let this one be a sim. Yes, it’s more difficult to play, but it’s more fun too. For years, I played Franchise on beginner and actually fell asleep during games (it was fun to see who could hit more home runs: Peter Parker or Bruce Wayne). Ever since I began playing DD, this game has been far more enjoyable. I went from playing a few hours a week to almost 5 hours a day.

I guess I am the opposite of most players. I seem to pitch better with control pitchers than power pitchers. Kershaw is the lone exception for me and I do enjoy playing with his awards card, because for some reason I can actually hit a little with him too.
