Adding Team Chemistry
-
San Diego Studios, if you see this I have a tremendous idea that Diamond Dynasty players would love to see implemented in this upcoming MLB the Show 23 game. Adding team chemistries to enhance the competitiveness of “theme teams” would be a simple yet super cool addition to Diamond Dynasty. For example, for each 5 players of the same team affiliation, the cards of that affiliation would receive a +1 boost to all attributes. So if a player uses 15 Astros cards, then the 15 Astros cards would each receive +3 to all attributes. This would allow people to use more cards from their favorite teams while being a little more competitive in online DD modes. This also incentivizes skillful lineup creation for competitive ranked seasons players and E-Sports players, without creating a super unbalanced advantage. I feel like this wouldn’t be super hard to implement, given overalls are adjusted daily using inside edge anyways, and the parallel feature also influences overalls.
A tangent idea would be giving attribute boosts to player combos who played together in real life. For example, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley spent years together as teammates and are an iconic duo up the middle. Perhaps giving duos like that a slight attribute boost when both are in the lineup would be another cool addition.

Cool , I have a variation of that bit with catchers and pitchers , if a catchers is known in mlb to be a great catcher for pitchers he would give the pitcher + stats regardless of his offensive stats . Like Maldonado of the Astros.

No thank you, don't need another madden disaster

Biig,
The thing about madden and team chemistry is that it allows for creative lineup building. In MLB the Show lineups are all about meta: sinker/cutter/H9/K9 for pitchers and Contact/power for hitters.
There’s no incentive for using your favorite cards or teams when you could win more games using the best/meta cards. I love Michael Young as a Rangers fan, but his cards are mediocre at best because they lack power. A little boost to that, or making his contact a touch higher to make it an elite advantage through a team chemistry boost makes him more competitive. The game gets a little old when everyone runs the same ranked lineups. I remember in MLB 20 facing Corey Kluber 134642 times because there was no creative team building.
Where madden gets in trouble is it’s 50 players for team Chems and it gets complicated. However these MLB teams are only 25 on the roster
