    Franchise

Add more trade slots when going to ask for a deal (there are only three at the moment, and games like NHL, NBA, and even Madden have multiple slots to make deals look more like they do in real-life)
Correct the issue where no opposing team wants to make a trade at the start of the regular season because “Our injury situation is forcing us to hold off on making a deal” (this happens when starting a regular season, even with non-injured players, and has been in the game for YEARS, teams have made trades at the start of the season before, for example, Jose Trevino to the Yankees or Austin Meadows to the Tigers)
More realistic trade logic (I shouldn’t be able to get an offer for Alex Bregman in trade finder when I’m looking to trade a middle-aged reliever in Matt Barnes and a decent first baseman in Bobby Dalbec)
Allow us to hire managers and coaches for minor league teams
Make it so we can see previous coaching experience once we hire a coach. The more Major League experience they have, the better.
Customizable draft classes (NHL, NBA, and NFL games have these, and, while the MLB draft is probably too many rounds to consider this, gamers should still be able to add as many prospects as the amount of rounds will allow, while those who don’t get drafted can hang out in FA and look to find a team that can pick them up, much like how the NBA and even the NFL do it in their games)
Trade deadline strategies (Add a feature where gamers can look into every single team around the league and see if they are looking to buy, sell, mix of both, and what players they are looking to get rid of or acquire. The trade block is a nice feature to have, but I feel like this can be expanded on. NBA 2K has something similar with “team intel”, which allows you to look at every team around the league and see not only which players are on the block for those respective teams, but, also, who they are targeting in possible trades. It can better inform teams’ strategies and plans for the deadline, because they know who they can trade with and who should probably be avoided based on their own situation)
Add more sons and Juniors to the draft classes (since we just saw not one, not two sons of former MLB players get drafted, and there are even more already playing in the Bigs and waiting in the wings, it would be fun to add more sons of former MLB players in even the automated draft classes. It would add very cool and fun storylines to the franchise experience, especially for the most avid of baseball fandom)
Make Winter Meetings more of an event (It always shows up on the calendar, but the Winter Meetings never feel like anything that special. You go through it, you maybe get a trade or two if you’re lucky, and, then…that’s it. Once you pass through, you should be able to decide whether or not you want to meet with teams and discuss possible trades. If so, you can go in and make all the deals you want. If not, you can go right through and continue the off-season. Give the gamer the choice)
Add the ability to give your GM a name (NBA 2K, NHL, and Madden all have this feature, the latter with coach and owner. It would give Franchise mode an identity, and allow you to build a team under whatever pseudonym you desire, whether it be your own name, the name of a former player, or some obscure name like Joe Schmoe)
Add more former players to the hiring process for coaches (NBA 2K has this. It would be very cool to see players like Derek Jeter or Mariano Rivera able to be hired for coaching gigs. Even, when current players retire, guys like Miggy Cabrera and Albert Pujols should come back as coaches. It has happened before with guys like Don Mattingly and Aaron Boone, and will most likely be happening for the foreseeable future)
Rivalry moments (whenever a player gets hit by a pitch or someone does an over-the-top celebration, the other team remembers it the next time they play. Why not add the ability to make the teams remember and retaliate the next time around? Maybe by hitting the best player on the other squad or by doing a wild celebration when getting a big strikeout or clutch hit? Even add in special commentary to make the moment feel even more special, reiterating how these specific moments are perfectly-timed vengeance for a wrong that one team feels has been committed against them in the past)

    Gameplay

Add the MLB Network layout back into the game (I enjoyed having a prime time feel in games past, but the MLB Network presentation was not an option this year. While I enjoy the commentary team of John Sciambi and Chris Singleton, giving us a more prime-time feel, especially in the postseason with more commentators, maybe even Bob Costas and Jim Kaat, would enhance the experience, in my opinion. Maybe even see if ESPN would allow you to use their licensing. I’m not sure if the lockout was the reason why this was shelved last year, but this should ABSOLUTELY make a comeback next year)
Add the ability to challenge more plays (The system has been the same for years, where you can only challenge safe/out calls at first base. Expand the horizon to make it more like the real-life challenge system, and make more plays able to be reviewed by an umpiring crew)
More umpire arguments and ejections (These can be turned off and on during a game, and do somewhat happen, but arguments only happen very briefly with managers and pitchers after a close strike/ball call and ejections can only happen when three batters in a row are hit. No one wants their players ejected during a game, but should at least be given an option to argue with an ump and risk ejection, or walk away, just like in real-life. It would give the game more of a fun feel and edge, in my opinion

I would also love to see bench clearing brawls, maybe not with punches being thrown, but just those brawls where everyone is getting up in each other's faces, and pushing and shoving! And as a result of this brawl, this game should have suspensions!!!
