I essentially punted the Monthly programs since the get-go and im pleasantly shocked to see alot of these cards still going for 100k+. Should bank almost a million stubs alone just from some small grinds I have left in some of these months....but genuinely curious have they always been that expensive? Seems odd cards so easily obtainable have such high values.

Not many people sell them and a lot of people don't want to do the grind for them.

They are rarer now because most people collected them for the POTM Program. Those who did not have already sold them to others who collected them for the POTM programs. I don't expect many players are still going through those programs so those cards on the market are getting rarer.

The margins on most of them are excellent if you're patient with flipping.
