So, I just reached 114 points and am ready to pick my first 4 point MA card.
I have finished the TN, Nootbar, and Fairbanks missions.
I have 45 points to finish McNeil - that will be done before the next game is over.
I have 1,025 to get the 15 points for the MA hitters and 1,370 to get the 15 points for the MA Pitchers.
The pitching will come easier than the hitters.
I am wondering if it is better to take a 4 point hitter, to get that done and stick with Fairbanks to get my pitching done (I finished his mission with 1 game, he pitched all 9 innings).
I am sitting at 15 points until my next 4 point card.
So...either a 4 point hitter or a 4 point pitcher...which do I take?
-
This is why I really hate POTM this year. It is way too complicated of a program unless you rent the cards. I read your post and get where you are coming from, but I honestly don't know. My thinking is the more hitters the better, but I know it isn't always that easy.

Add the hitter and maximize your lineup pxp for the hitting mission. Do you have more than 1 pitcher? If not I'd say grab the pitcher.
Or 3rd option: Rent all the others and sell them back once you get the duplicates in Stage 3. Are you trying to collect them all or just the ones you like?

I get what you're saying and not everyone can afford to rent several 75K players. But I do like that it takes a little strategy. I always rent the players and sell them back 1 by 1 as I get the dupes in Stage 3. I make it a little game to see who performs the best over the course of the program.
But if you can't or don't want to rent the players, at least the program isn't timed and there are some really good cards to use. For instance I still love that Altuve card even though there are several better options at 2B. I wouldn't have used him for long had it not been for the program.

I think you guys are right. I'll take the hitter. If I take another pitcher, then I'll have an MA card just sitting there not earning points.
I can rent the cards, but I'd rather get it done without renting.
Thanks for the input!

every month i have taken 1 pitcher and 4 hitters with my 5 picks, cause 1 pitcher can complete the pitcher pxp but even with 4 it still takes awhile for the hitting pxp.

Collect them. The MA cards have been really fun to play with this year, so I'd like to get them all and try them out.

Excellent! Thank you.
My mistake this time was taking a closer instead of starter. Next time, I'll take the starter.
I did that because I had May pitching to get the 2000 TN PXP and I didn't want an MA card sitting around, but I didn't use Fairbanks until I finished the TN points anyway.

After you get this 4 pt card; how close will you be to the next 4pt pack?
If it's 15 or under; take either a hitter or a pitcher then buy the other one right there.
Collect the 5 cards and you should get the next pack. Pick one of the ones you already took and sell them. May make a small profit.

I'm 11 away from getting my last MA pack in stage 2.
Thanks!

Like others have said, I typically take 1 starter, 1 closer, then the rest position players until I get past the main card (Mookie).
-
My strategy is to pick the Starter in the first pack followed by 4 hitters. 1 pitcher gets to the pitcher PXP requirement in about the same time frame as the 4 hitters that way

Both Arozerena and Bregman both crush so i went with them and took the Arizona pitcher last

I took Bregman as my first 4 pointer. I have Fairbanks to pitch and I'll take Arozarena next.
Thanks.

Good call, i think i did exactly the same thing. Arozarena hit 3 HRs and a double, Mookie also went off hitting 3 as well in my last game yesterday to get me the last 98 pack and the ballin out of control (which got me Jose Ramirez to sell for 10k)

To start out I always go pitcher, hitter, pitcher. Then with the next two that are 98s go with hitter hitter. If there is a starter and reliever at the lower level you should be able to spam those guys game after game during conquest. While working on monthly pitcher PXP also load up your lineup with Topps Now hitters. Once pitching PXP and Topps now is finished you should have enough program points to obtain 2 of the top 3 MA guys and then knock out the hitter moment. This month my picks in this order were Kirby, Walker, Diaz, Bregman and Arozarena.

That makes a lot of sense for 3 inning games. I think that was my original thought by taking Fairbanks. Use May and Fairbanks to pitch and grind the hitters. But, for some reason, I decided to play CPU games instead, so after I finished the TN mission, I had Fairbanks pitch 9 innings (a CP for 9 innings, I know LOL) and finished him in one game.
Thanks.
