Why have the last 2 showdowns been so difficult?
-
I feel like everything has to be perfect perfect, this is insane, and it's supposed to be on rookie and veteran??? Just slightly off and it's an out, this isn't supposed to be deep divisions online lol, wtf is going on?

Worst showdown of the year
1 inning limit for moments
We don't want moments in showdown just SHOWDOWN
-
I like the ones with all boss battles. This one is tough... made it to Pedro twice needing to score 5 runs off him and scored 2 both times. The only other one I struggled with this year was the one with Venezuela... could not beat him. I like Showdown a lot better than pxp and moments.
-
I agree with the posts above, the ones that are just all boss battles are much more fun. I will say tho that I enjoyed the 1 inning moments this time because I usually just quit out of the moments of I don't get it done first inning in showdown anyway.
-
Yea, the 1 inning limits were tough. I entered the final showdown down 15 - 10 but still managed to win with 3 outs to spare. I really didn't want to do it again.

I've won every Showdown I played this year without much problem -- but this one? Yikes! It's brutal. There's a lot of those 1 inning assignments where a double play ball will kill you, or even crushing the ball and it goes right at people. I beat Percieval on my 2nd go around with him, but he's tough. By the time I got to Pedro, I had to score 6 runs with 13 outs. I scored two. The hitting dots on him are very small and his arsenal is extensive. Plus, he hits all the corners on very hard pitches, constantly changing speeds. I might need to find another way to get those 30,000 points. The hitters they offer up aren't all the best, either. I'm rather stunned at the discrepancy in difficulty levels between this showdown and the others. It's significant.

Last night on the last mission worth 3 runs... I literally squared up the ball great 3 times for 3 outs. I don't mind a challenge... but why do they call this rookie difficulty? How can squaring a ball up cause 3 straight outs on rookie difficulty. Hopefully can get through it tonight... played it twice up to Pedro last night with zero to show for it.

This showdown was very easy and enjoyable. Maybe I was just very locked in when I decided to play it, but it was super easy to me.
-
I think the problem with rookie difficulty is how massive the PCI is. Pitches you would either foul off or just straight up miss on other difficulties you end up making weak contact and putting the ball into play for an out because it catches the PCI.

For sure. I've said for a while that Veteran is easier than Rookie for this reason

I prefer the boss gauntlet showdowns personally but in defense of this, I don't typically do more than 1 inning anyway.
Like am I really going to waste time pitching a half inning in these offensive based moments? If I can't manage to get 2 hits within 3 outs with 2 diamonds and 2 decent silver/golds, I don't deserve that run.
Unfortunately I failed some of the easier ones my first attempt and went into final showdown with only 8 runs...finished with 13 so some of those easier screw ups may have been the difference maker.
Just how I feel about it.

I managed to scrape by every challenge with the exception of the last one before Pedro. "Perfect" ground ball into a double play. That cost me 3 runs. I went into the final down 4, managed to tie it but couldn't push across the winner. Ugh. I don't think I have the energy to try it again, and luckily, don't really have a need to.

That's the key. I don't need to do this Showdown.
I'm usually locked in like a previous poster said, but things get sweaty. There are less stressful ways to get 30K XP. -
Totally agree. I have never had so much issues with passing. Failed now 5 times. best of the five was scoring to tie up at 15 to have Harper smash it but hit twice off the top of fence and come back into play for a double. Then next hitter Brantley lines out to lf. Very frustrating. But mostly I believe Ripkin, Bench and and Mantle not the best cards and really don't come through for you much in the showdown. Have to have some luck with cards that are drafted.
-
Yeah I have done better with online play with higher difficulty vs the big unit, there is some fukery going on here with the sliders or something
-
I think all you have valid points, i'm just pissed i haven't been able to beat this lol
-
Passed it the second time through. 1st time I needed 9 runs and tied it at 15. Second time through I passed every showdown except the homerun in 1st inning. Pay attention to what booster you're adding. Anything that adds exit velo with 2 strikes or no one on base is best and for the bosses use the one that's exit velo after 7th inning.
-
This one was the weirdest and most difficult fir me too. Usually don't have much of a problem with Showdowns. First try I made it to Pedro with only 4 runs earned so I needed 12 to beat him. I was so close to just restarting but said why the heck not. I could use the practice hitting against him. I ended up actually beating it with 3 outs to spare!
-
This has been the hardest showdown for me. I have failed a showdown twice since they became a thing and now am 0 for 3 on this one. The timing window seems really off and inconsistent from moment to moment in this one. Lots of good contact for outs. Maybe ramping it up to get us ready for extreme?
-
It feels scripted. Twice in the little missions, it comes down to one out and I squeak it out with my last batter on a swing that was no better than all the lazy flies I was hitting with higher attributed guys earlier. Just give me the dice roll I generate. I’m not here for manufactured fake showdown drama. If my swings are bad, let me fail and if my swings are good enough with my first two batters, let me win
