Rtts needs to be unlinked from DD

Or at least, we need to be given the option to have an entirely off-line version, with better stat progression. The progression of stats felt terrible last year, and it's even worse this year--not to mention that many players still have trouble getting the actual progression of the archetypes to work.
It feels incredibly unrewarding to only be able to advance base stats to 50, and then have to round out anything above that with equipment, perks, and archetypes, the first two of which can be bought at any time, and the latter of which feel incredibly limiting.
Not to mention that the perks themselves were nerfed to such an extent this year that it is literally impossible to create a 99 overall center fielder. No matter the archetype, no matter the perks, you'll max out at around 96/97 overall. Yes, equipment raises attributes in-game, but it feels terrible for there to be an incredibly popular position that is cut off from max rating in a single-player mode.
Yes, these players are broken in DD, but the game-mode shouldn't be balanced around DD. There needs to be the option, in a single-player mode, to create 5-tool players, if the player sees fit.
And if you really want to keep the link as it is, the easiest solution was to nerf equipment, not perks. You know what breaks the DD balance? Being able to buy 4 pieces of equipment that increase Power AND Contact by 25 apiece, and another 2 pieces that increase speed by 20. Let perks be strong again, nerf equipment if you really want to insist on RTTS and DD being so closely linked.
Or, ideally, have an option at the beginning: do you want this player to be linked to DD? If yes, you get the stunted progression we have now. If no, you get to actually craft a player however you see fit.

It sounds like your problem could be fixed by locking a created player in Franchise.

It could, but people shouldn't have to play an entirely different game mode just to get a somewhat similar experience to the game mode that should already be offering that experience.

I didn't even know this was a thing. Do you have a link for instructions on how to do this?

You do realize your argument there goes both ways, and the franchise option is already available.

Thanks for the link man appreciate it. Didn't even know this was possible

RTTS was better in 08 than it is now because of being linked to DD
