I just got my HRD and All Star packs from POTM program and pulled Soto and then Stanton. I never get lucky opening packs so this just made my day, 👏😄

I sold Stanton and got HRD Julio.

First 20 at bats for Soto 8 home runs and a .750 batting average.
First 15 at bats for Julio 5 home runs and a .733 batting average.
Granted all these at bats were against the computer playing conquest but wow. Mind blown 🤯

Congrats, I haven't pulled anything but base round out of the HRD sets but I did get Manoah out of the ASG set. I bought Soto last night and can't wait to try him tonight. 1 more player needed for Robinson. Leaning towards getting Julio over Stanton.

Awesome. I tried Stanton. He’s way too slow in the outfield for me. Even though Soto’s defense doesn’t look good on paper I still think he’s way better than Stanton. Soto’s bat will make up for any hits he can’t get to in the outfield. As for Julio he’s ridiculous. I don’t even think his reaction and defense being low is an issue because his speed is 98 out the gate. He flies out there and his bat is insane and he makes singles for most people doubles or triples.

I actually really love that Seager card. All he does is hit home runs. As for Buxton I’ve been up and down with him. He’s pretty decent against lefties but against righties it’s a struggle. It’s a shame too because I made a post thinking he might get MVP in the all star game and how great he would. He would be the best outfielder in the game if they gave him at least 90 contact vs both sides. Still a fun card.

I love that Stanton card but I can see how his defense would be a liability. Playing mostly offline, he absolutely destroys baseballs. I had a run of 9 xbhs before making my first out with him.

Congrats on the pulls. JRod is this years Trea Turner I think and Stanton is an easy 130k stubs.

I agree on the Trea Turner comparison. I’ll eventually buy Stanton back. He will make a really good bench bat. I’m working on getting the collections done. I had all the collections done last year pretty early on by flipping. I’ve been pretty lazy about is this year, I might take a couple days and just get it done. I know you’re always on your A game making stubs. I got live series done about a month ago. Lol

Flipping cards was super frustrating for like 2 months this year. Then around June the margins got better. If you want a good flip series where you don't have to spend much time, DM me. There are some categories nobody seems to be touching.

Hey, we all go at whatever pace we want. I play this game against myself and you do as well, there's no race. Who cares when I get Randy or you get Jackie? I have a buddy who only cares about fielding 1 great team. He'll never finish any collection but he's still got a solid team and wins more than he loses in RS.

Yeah, definitely a good move to sell Stanton and keep JROd. You can Stanton when he like 30k in a month or so

Like the JRod card, but what made Trea Turner so good last year was his active quirks - which it seemed as though he had all of them - and of course, match those with his swing. He played far above his attributes. The JRod card doesn’t have any active quirks; however, I understand what you were trying to say.

By the way, I had sent you another PM. Just curious about something.

Good point about the active quirks. I never really pay attention to those if I'm playing offline but I totally get how that would make him OP. My comparison was mainly the speed/power/contact and great swing combo. I also like that it is coming from an unexpected card. I'm still new to this game so maybe its just my inexperience but when they announced the All star cards last year, I never would have pegged Trea as the best offensive one. Now that he's become one of the top hitters in the league it makes sense. And now that I understand the game and what makes a player great, I get it. But I figured one of the mashers like Judge, JoRam, Olson, Acuna etc would be the top hitter.

Same this year though as soon as the finalists for the HR Derby were set I knew both those cards would be beasts.
