SDS - Don't tell me these showdowns don't get more difficult when you are close to the TA player.

I love how every time you’re average player has a complaint, some elitist comes in swinging their di** and tells them they suck and it was easy for them. We get it you’re great at the game. For the other 90 that’s not in the 10% we just play to enjoy the game and collect cards. I hate how SDS seems to cater to that 10% rather than listening to the overwhelming majority of players...

They don’t lol
Sorry, doesn't apply to "elite" players. Plenty of people struggling with showdown. I only seem to when I am right there for a player.
Maybe stop pressing then, there is no change to difficulty when you’re close to a player, to get Soto I beat the NL East showdown down 15-9 with 18 outs left.

Then don’t play effing showdown then, there’s like 6 ways to get a team affinity player.

all I'm saying is there is a much better, easier way than showdown to get FOTF players, that doesn't cost you stubs, in fact you earn stubs playing it.

yea, but if you're struggling with showdown why keep buying in when you can just go with MTO?, I just think its a better option for people having trouble doing the showdowns for FOTF cards.

i agree with you and great advice for guys struggling on showdown - MTO is really a lot of fun if you like broadcast style play that isn't rushed or stressed out

Absolutely ridiculous. I haven't failed the AL Central yet but now that I am magically one win away from Santana, I can't even make it to the final showdown. Knew I was in trouble against Morris when I got 3 good/good to start the game with zero hits. Ended up with 8 good/good or better and got a whopping one hit. You let me know when I can get Santana now. Same [censored] happened against Snell and love the 5 failures I had getting Gallo even though I had not failed that showdown prior to that. Guess I just lost my touch. /s
Weird, for someone who swore up and down last year they wouldn’t buy MLBTS20 no matter what because it sucked so much, you sure seem to have unlimited access to it.
Did you check the ping of the CPU before starting Showdown?

Part of me wants to do these for you so we can see what your next conspiracy theory is. I feel like I've been reading this post every day since release.
Since 2017*

How does the game know you're going to finish Santana and not start working on Moncada or Buxton. Does it make it IMPOSSIBLE if you're chipping away at all at once? Wooaah

Also wondering this...

Yea once I finally gave up I started MTO it’s really not that long either. You can complete it totally in about 5-6 hours and end up with a decent chunk of affinity. Granted Showdowns are about 30 minutes lol

yea they do take a bit longer, but you are rewarded affinity points halfway through the season and at the end of the season so based on where you are at in your TA stages you may not have to do the full 5 hours. I just found its a much easier more relaxing way to get those FOTF cards.

Hmmm.. One would think that if SDS had it 'in for them' nd was making then play extra Showdowns; that person would just invest the same amount of time (and less stubs) and just do that's team's MTO on All-Star.
But hey, why do it the easy way. Probably because you cant blame the game.

Stop telling people what to do and just be quiet..Ok we get it you did it but others have struggled at it.So u did it faster and better.A lot of people are struggling with this..We can't all be good like you and the other top 5% but we would like to ask why does some of the game play seem to change when going for certain rewards. It may not seem that way to you because of your skill but to the avg guy really putting in the time and effort it may and yes I have often wonder myself. In 5 tries at the AL West I completed it twice my last try ended in a 15-15 tie and I had 5 outs left Verlander had no energy and thrown over 137 pitches but those fielders all of a sudden became Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays 2 diving catches 1 robbed HR so it's frustrating and to me it seems in the pressure moment the CPU becomes HOF or Legend in All-Star

I have finished 7 showdown in 2 days...suddenly it turn out very easy. The problem is it take too much time.
MTO takes way longer just depends on the person playing where they want to invest their time Showdown is a bit easier and less time consuming.I guess..
-
Well, here is the deal for those that know everything. I have 7 of these TA players. The first 4 I went through and maybe failed once in 12 runs which was one I jumped to the end after already doing this twice. The last 4 I have gone after (the 3 that I don't have and the one I am going after now), I have failed like 12 times. I am not pressing. I am playing the same way I did the first 4 players with 1 fail. Something changed recently.
I think it was too easy to get them and that is why you are seeing threads stating that people can't even get TA players this way. I have a team full of them but something changed recently in regards to difficulty.
-
It’s actually fun, not that hard and you get your investment back by first mini-boss. But the AL Central is tougher, because it lacks great hitters, even the FotF cards are whimsy.

It doesn’t change when you get close to rewards, you guys just want mindless easy grinds and showdown for some of you is not that, sorry
