For the 8 millionth time…
You’re not buying Trout for 400K.
You’re buying…
Trout
Glaus
Young
Frank
Randy
(And maybe Brett).400k is still a ridiculous price for one card. (And you get the other cards no matter who your last card is so hinging it on Trout, while likely in many cases, wouldn’t necessarily be correct. But your example is legit.)

So you would rather have a 10,000 person lime at 100k than have trout be where he is at? Trout hits 400k almost every single year. It's a part of the game
He didn’t last year. I paid slightly over 100k for him.
When did you start? Trout wasn't 100k until November
I started in July last year. And well before November, he'd dropped to 30k because of the Trump 99.
What are you on about?
Try reading the rest of the thread.
I did. Try rereading what you wrote.

I have just 24 hours of play time (started late this year) and have all the cards but the big 91+‘s no money spent however I was given a gift are for my birthday. I’ll get them all before to long. The marketplace is a great thing.
With that said. Yes it’s a grind but if it was easy I wouldn’t be playing it honestly.

I don't think 100k makes it easy, but it doesn't make it overwhelming. That's my point. It shouldn't be. And 400k is overwhelming.

The demand has Trout at 400k, now imagine the demand at 100k (which is easy tbh). There would be a line over a month long of people waiting to pay 100k for Trout. Remember all those waitlines 1m cards like Finest Trea Turner? Times that by 10x with your "solution"

It’s not the demand. It’s entirely the market. There’s no other card in the game that has a higher price on it. Take that high price off and it becomes easier to get. Problem now is hardly anyone can get it.And again I’ll say this would apply only to the live series. That’s because the live series is the base of the game.

Tell me you don't know how the market works without telling me how the market works. Let me give you a rl example. If a cracker box was $4, there is a market for it, less people get it, but some would. Now with the crackers at $1, way more people buy it and demand goes up dramatically. The demand in a freeish market is keeping Trout at 400k because enough people are willing to pay that. This is very simple supply and demand economics. If he's 100k, there would be way more buyers, but there wouldn't be a larger supply of Trouts available, and thus month long lines.

I stated the collection and a voucher for Brett tied to Trout as being the reason, but there is another reason as well.
The way they have released flashbacks and legends this year. We have a few here and there(higher) but the ceiling for overalls has 95 so far, which means there are some LS cards that are still relevant in lineups, its not a coincidence that those high ovr LS that are still relevant are the highest cost. -
Don't agree with you at all. Finishing the live series is a big reward. Lowering the value diminishes it. You don't have to spend money. I didn't spend a dime and I didn't even buy the game. You get Trout you probably get a bunch of other god squad cards. The game is extremely generous with stubs. I didn't pull Trout, deGrom, Ohtani, Acuna etc. in a pack but I was but able to purchase him with stubs that I earned in the game. I play a bit but not as much as many people. Live series cards are only expensive because of the rewards you get from completing them. Three months after the game released and Trout, Thomas, Clemente, and Johnson are still the best cards at each position for many people.

I have. But the live series cards still have a couple (Trout, Acuna to name two) that shouldn't have high prices like that. I know they've done a little to get them down. I've said before I think a 99 card for both of those will help, but the overall solution isn't just to pump out 99 cards. A 400k card really punctures the fun of the game. I should add I really love this game. It (along with Train Sim World 2) are my two faves with MLB The Show in first place. But it hurts the live series to have some cards basically impossible to get. The live series is the basic structure of the game. The cards shouldn't all be priced the same, but there shouldn't be such a huge hurdle to get them all.
If Trout were 100k at this point, you would be complaining that everyone and their mother was throwing out 99 Randy Johnson every game.
It's fine the way it is. Anyone that really wants Trout can either flip their way to 400K, or earn/sell enough cards to get him. The best live series card in the game shouldn't be a participation trophy.
I love the fact that you called it a participation trophy because that’s the way it actually seems to!!

A Bugatti Chiron should have a max price of 60k, it gives some people a distinct advantage over others.
