Halladay's Stuff

I only caught Halladay when he was in Philly.
I remember the nasty cutter (should have way more break in the game), and the hard sinker.
4-seamer obviously.
But I swore he threw a circle change, and I don't recall the big curve.
Can some Jays fans help me out here?

When he first came up he was a high velo 96+ starter that threw over the top arm slot. Was primarily 4 seam, 12-6 curve guy with a change. He got hit around a lot, went the the minor, changed his arm slot (lowered it some what) and lowered is velo for better control Learned to cut and sink his fastball and tighten his curveball up. I know he had a change but I don't remember him using it much. He primarily used a cutter and a sinking fastball with the curve worked in the keep the hitters honest. The 4 seam, which he could still throw 96+ he used when he needed to and the occasional change.

According to the link in 2007 he threw a knuckleball .1% so he should get a knuckleball

Heard Clemens & Jose used to shoot him up with a needle in Toronto...kidding. But I wonder how much Clemens taught him how to pitch? He made a big change when he was called up again.

Actually Clemens had zero impact. Clemens final year was Roy's first. Halladay didn't reinvent himself until he was sent to the minors in 2001, 3 years after Clemens left Toronto.

I could be totally wrong of course.He threw a sweeping curve. The thing was like a Frisbee. I'm sure his 99 card will have it but I don't think he threw a circle change.

gotcha. I didn't remember the years. I just knew they were teammates at some point.
