Monthly Rewards - forced to spend stubbs?

I have 2 players left to complete the set and get Devers.
But I only have one May Monthly pack left in the progression. Ill probably pick Altuve.
So to get the last one I have to pay?

Unless you sold a earlier pack then no you don't have to buy any of them. You get 6 packs of the 91 overall (3 of which are unsellable) and 3 packs of the 93 overal (1 of which is unsellable)

You get them all for free just by grinding.
Strangely, I decided to “rent” 3 or 4 POTM cards to get the PXP missions over with quickly, and I actually ended up making a small profit by selling them back a few days later.

I was looking at this last night and was wondering the same thing until I realized I”ll get 6 points for Jim Rice and 15 points the hitting mission. That will give me Devers and kick me to stage three where I can grind the repeatables to get the rest of the cards.

I did the exact same thing. I probably channeled your wise ways. Except I don't think I made a profit because the prices dipped and I am way too impatient to wait it out hahaha.
