Ah yes, moments
-
Moments are universally despised. SDS needs to slap itself and figure out other ways of doing things. 22 is stale and unoriginal, but it's literally the only game in town. I'll play it, enjoy it, loathe it...pure ambivalence.
23 will be a wait-and-see year for me. I haven't bought Madden in years, and The Show is next on the list. Hope they turn it around next year.

Hit a homerun with Goldy. Okay. First pitch slider down the middle. Power swing. Perfect/perfect flyball to dead CF. Not a no doubter. Defender runs to the wall. Jumps and makes the play. Mission failed.
And then no more than 2 minutes later, i'm sure you completed it. What was the point of this post?
Yes I did, not even 2 minutes later actually. The point is that moments are so weird that it's actually quite funny. Have you ever hit a slider in real life? I'm gonna go ahead and say no you didn't. Even Tony Gwynn will no doubt homer a slider down the middle on a powerful swing, because of you know.. physics. Goldy against a LHP with that pitch in that location and that swing, and still being able to get robbed.. that's hilarious. I thought most people would understand this and I didn't really have to explain, but I'm glad I could help you a hand here.
Well, you got me there. In my thousands of at bats from high school through college through independent ball through competitive mens leagues which I play to this day.....not once was I able to get a hold of a slider. Still haunts me to this day....thanks for bringing it up.
If that's all true, then you'd know that a hanging slider that you see and hit with a good launch angle will always leave the park. Unless you're 5'4 and weigh 110lbs.
....but if it's in the middle of the plate and in the middle of your pci...that isnt a perfect launch angle for a home run. Get a little underneath it with perfect timing for a perfect launch angle. A ball hit perfect is less likely to travel upward as much as a ball slightly early or slightly underneath. Slightly early and underneath the slider would have been a no doubter. I bet when you completed the moment... it was either slightly early or slightly underneath the center... right?
A "Perfect Flyball" would be giving it the perfect elevation for a homerun...a "Perfect Linedrive" would be perfectly squared with it being at an elevation near 0 degrees...and a "Perfect Groundball" would be perfectly chopping the ball into the ground...you know, a wormburner!
OP did not say perfect flyball. If somebody says right in the middle of the plate perfect/perfect... that sounds like dead center of the PCI to me, which is not perfect launch angle for a home run.

Just went and read it again and it says perfect flyball... I swear it just said perfect/perfect the first time I read. My apologies

My man, I'll say it again. I had a perfect/perfect flyball. Yes? Perfect. Perfect. Flyball.
I thought it just said perfect/perfect the first time I read it, but now it says perfect flyball. If you didn't edit... that's my fault for having bad reading comprehension. I agree that a perfect timing flyball hit on a slider should be a no doubter.

Nah, he didn’t edit it. It was quoted in several comments that soon ensued. Kudos for owning up though; rare on the internet!

No my initial post doesn't have the edited icon next to it.

I got HBP in the Burger and Stage 2 Calhoun Moments, so there will be frustration, but hang in there.
-
The Jim Rice moment nearly drove me insane. I spent at least 20 minutes on it, maybe more. I would have no trouble getting the first XBH, but couldn't get the second. I don't know if the game felt sorry for me or what, but finally I blasted 2 PP over the Monster.

I spent longer than that.... sure makes you feel rewarded that we get to pull this player LOL
Was a joke tbh

The main problem I have with tools now and Monthly player moments is you have to complete all of them to unlock everything or end up buying one or more of the diamond cards, which can be expensive, especially for the monthly cards.
They should let you skip some moments or do some exchange like they do in other programs. Exchanging is cheaper than buying the monthly cards

Just saw this post....curious....you got the no doubt animation and the ball was still caught? I have literally never seen that! And I've been playing for years and years....that's crazy man.

Most of the moments were a breeze. There was one where the goal was 6 k's without a run. When I had 5 I started to give up a string of hits. Had a runner on third and a runner on first with 1 out. Batter lines out to first basemen who runs to double off first but then stops and throws home. Not sure how but the runner on 3rd tagged up and scored.
