Does Chase Utley suck for anybody else?

His the 1st set I completed in the LS collection cause he was the most tempting one for me but boy have been let down with his batting. Over 80 plate appearances, 1 HR, .196 BA, .580 ops. I had Matt Carpenter at 2B for the longest and was really good for me there but I thought Utley would be an upgrade but that hasn’t been the case at all.
Everyone on my team is hitting atleast a .330 BA+ except Utley. Every time his at bat it’s always a weak pop up or weak grounder dude got no power what so ever. I will say his defense has definitely been noticeable though. I get way more outs with him when people try and steal 2nd base than I did with Carpenter I’m guessing cause of his Diamond defense. He got Diamond as a hitter but it’s more like a bronze for me. Highly disappointed in that card so far.

He has been amazing playing well above his stats. Can hit almost anything and lots of pop
-
He’s almost like a LH Trout for me with a little less pop. That quick swing is sweet if you can hit with cards like that. Some guys prefer the slower swings.
I have him P5 and he’s prob still batting ~.340 for me.

I think you’re just pressing with him. Happens a lot. Sometimes I start off horribly with a card and then something just clicks. Give it time. Drop him in the order so there’s less pressure to perform with him.
His defense is definitely better than Carpenter but that has no effects on throwing out base stealers. That just comes down to how fast your pitcher releases the ball, type of pitch, and accuracy on the catcher throw meter (as well as the baserunners steal and speed ratings, and how good of a jump they get.)

I think I purposely hit crappy with him because I HATE that dude. Mets fan here plus I never liked him before the "incident". Was always a dirty player. I am old school, yeah....but when I played guys like that got their heads almost taken off if they pulled that stuff that he pulled. Sure, guys like Cobb came in spikes high but a lot of guys threw at Cobb's head also. I remember Eric Davis played very chippy and dirty and Ray Knight nearly took his head off. Good thing they separated those guys, Knight was a Gold Gloves fighter...I don't mind scrappy. But I mind dirty. And he was dirty. You don't put another players career and health in jeopardy and he did that. So I rarely use his card and when I do I think I intentionally sabotage myself.

I don’t follow baseball like that this is my 1st year showing interest so I don’t know half of who these players are besides looking at their stats lol

Maybe I had the same thing with Trout he wasn’t hitting that good for me but now his a monster easily one of my top players. And his # 7 in hitting order so I can only drop him down 1 spot not sure if that will make a difference thought

Trouts a beast for me but I stared off slowly with him. I’ll stick with him but close to 100 PA and still not showing much progress lol

I hate that card so much and not cause it's a bad card but because I can not get that card out, RS, BR, vs CPU doesn't matter it kills me
I have given that card the Barry Bonds treatment and walked it with base loaded

He has cooled off a touch for me and I have been using Morgan in the Event because it saves me a few points I can use somewhere else, but I think my issue with Utley has been related to myself. I have a problem with cards I like and do well with and that is overconfidence. I end up expanding the zone, because I feel like I can crush anything with them. Pretty sure that is what happened with Utley and why his average dropped into the .300s.

He’s probably my least favorite player in recent memory because of how dirty he played. I don’t use any of his cards and never will.

Try sitting on something low and in. Most of his no doubters come from there.
