Momentum in the Post Season
-
I played as the Yankees for my 2nd MTO. Won my Division, and was playing against the Blue Jays in the first round. I was up 2-0, going to the Rogers Centre. My pitchers had shut them down as well and the first two games were pitchers’ games.
The game sets up the Blue Jays, despite my “ momentum” and I can’t come back to win 17 inning game. I lose some “momentum” and on we go to Game 4. I lose to another walk-off and all the momentum I had is now gone.
I now return home to Yankee stadium. Unlike past years or games, somehow, despite being back at home, and yes, I lost “momentum,” all of a sudden, ALL BATS WOKE UP. Seriously? And the Jays are up 8-7 in the 7th?!
Why wasn’t I given the “momentum” like this in Toronto?! Given winning my Division by 8.5 games and being on the verge of a sweep, having pitched 2 complete games, one of those a shutout?!
I’m now in the bottom of the 9th, on the verge of losing my season. I will go onto Franchise after this.
I think the developers should think about the momentum next year. I understand upsets happen, but after pitching has done so well, and I’m up 2-0, my “momentum” that was just about full, should count for more than it did. Especially when the negative momentum effected me the way it did- which is fair. Just make it fair both ways.
