Number change

Why after being a act Young award and World Series winner after my first season, does my number keep getting changed?? Why do AAA players get to take a MLB players number?? That doesn’t happen.. This needs to be fixed, I’d like to keep the same number not have it changed constantly

I've only seen it taken away if either the number has been retired or a well known player uses it. I use 3 on the Angels and can keep it even though Taylor Ward is currently using it. When I've been traded to either the Braves (Dale Murphy) or Yankees (Babe Ruth) it's been taken away. I'm sure there are plenty more, those are just the ones I've noticed.
