Halladay stinks

K/9 is bad, no velo, and I'm sure it's accurate but no slider (nor slurve, sweeping curve, etc) is a huge no go. I don't really care or mind, in fact when it comes to online I'd be happy to face him, and if people enjoy him that's great. But the general vibe seems to be excitement and this is not a particularly good card.

Great card. Top 3 pitcher

I think if it wasn't Roy Halladay and just someone random you wouldn't say that...
And I could easily make 5 better

I don't even play online and I am not a fan of his repertoire.

It’s his real repertoire at least.
As a Jays fan I’m just excited to see the likes of Halladay and Delgado return to an MLB game. It’s just fun having them.

I didn't like the way it felt pitching with him in his Moments. Especially the no hitter one.
Depending on how fast I get him; I may just use him for awhile and if he jumps in price when they release the first mega collection sell him.
-
In the early Moments, he didn't have a put away pitch, but later with the Cutter and Splitter, it was easier to K batters.
-
The only reason we complain about his pitch mix is because SDS randomly gives super sinkers to guys who don't have them. Hell, Cabrera almost broke the game last year, and his IRL card doesn't even have a sinker -- slow clap for SDS here.
If sinkers weren't META -- god, I hate that term -- everyone's real pitch mix would be just fine.

He has a sinker.

If you can make 5 better, get those hips to work.

His H/9 which was all the rage last year is the best of any pitcher so far. Also remember: This is his 95. They probably had to water it down a bit so the 99 can stand out and be spectacular. I'd be willing to bet his 99 will be considered a top 10 or even top 5 pitcher when this came is said and done.

I'm not that mad though.
I would have been kind of furious if they made Halladay better than Sig Pedro from last year.
IRL Pedro was levels above Halladay. Hopefully they at least give a 99 Pedro this year a H/9 he deserves.
Or a better option would be to not have no hitter milestone cards at all, in which case Pedro's H/9 from last year would be passable

Yeah those 99 No hitter milestone cards were released pretty early in the game last year and they also had 102 outlier fastball which made the cards like Verlander and Ryan endgame

Yeah, and the best pitchers in 19 and 20 didn't even have 110 H/9. Game is better off without starters having max H/9.

Looks good to me. Sinker, cutter, splitter, curveball…horizontal movement in both directions, vertical movement, speed differentials, control, movement, 106 h/9.
Some people just complain about anything.

Pitching is an art form and Halladay was an artist. I was at his postseason no hitter and he was dominant pitching to contact. People think that throwing balls in the dirt is the only way to make people miss…Yeah. Some guys are gonna swing at everything but when you have patient hitters, People freak out. You have to try and put the ball where where it’s hittable but induces weak contact. That’s baseball. Throwing 102 meta sinkers with Cabrera last year was unrealistic and I’m happy they changed that this year.
