What is up with diving plays this year? The player can be 15ft from the ball, dive, and then throw a perfect throw every time. I understand a few diving plays working, yet every single time? Not realistic, and so broke. SDS, can you comment on what you have done in regard to diving this year to make is to different than other years? These dives just make the game even more unrealistic, and just further a homer slugfest or nothing game.

Change Slider settings for "reaction" to like 3 and player speed to 2, but this is for offline...if you're playing DD stuff you're F-ed cause your stuck at default settings which is totally off and not realistic.

Just my personal take on things, but I think SDS put in a bunch of mechanics to "simulate" the fact that in general, batting averages are way down in MLB. Lots of pop outs that people hadn't seen before, line outs straight at the fielder, superstar outfield plays by fairly low level players, etc.

What SDS hasn't figured out is that while people say they want "realism" in the game, they actually don't. They want their RttS guy to bat at least .400. They want their pitcher to throw no-hitters every other game. One guy here on the forum was complaining bitterly that the stat tracker for home runs stopped at 255. For the season. For one player. Realism... Yeah. Sure. That's what you want...

I was watching a Brewers game the other day, since I have a Brewers franchise going and I was shocked at how low their team batting average is and they are 1st in their division. But in my franchise, I like to see most players batting near .300. Not realistic, but it is fun... I did dial back the reaction and speed for outfielders, so that it looks more normal, but that's just me. It's a video game and in video games people like to win and they like to win big. They also want to do it in the most masochistic way possible so they can brag about it.

To be honest, I dunno why the game is the way it is, and SDS isn't gonna tell you.

Finally a sensible post, instead of the usual conspiracy theories or a DD player acting like a DD player.

Or a Franchiser acting like a Franchiser where you set the sliders to benefit you. Have you opened your McDonalds yet big boy?

What! Are you just trying to trigger me Texas! you know what I'm like dude, if I wanted to set up Franchise to benefit me I'd just play at All-Star level with default pitch speeds like a DD casual and not spend about 40 hours trying to set up Sliders to get realistic simulated baseball gameplay before I start Spring Training. I play Franchise with Legend hitting and pitching with maxed pitch speeds with matured sliders! you all should know this by now! The Leafs lost tonight ahhhh!! where is my latte!

Dude you have been triggered since you joined this forum a few years back. Don’t need any help from me. The Leafs are one of if not my favorite hockey team. I followed them heavily back when Belfour and Sundin were helping them win. I even have a Leaf’s sweater singed by Eddie who has always been my favorite player. They continue to be cursed since 67.

This is a great post, other than the bragging part. Unless you're 13, I guess...

I'd add to it that people don't necessarily want realism per se. DD people who are basing the game aren't bashing it because it's not realistic; they're bashing it because excellent/perfect input seems to matter less than ever before, and in competitive mode that's "broken" (term used loosely). Add to this that SDS has, for some [censored] unknown reason, made fielders Supermen, and it's a recipe for player frustration.

As a franchise guy first, I've come to despise SDS because they've totally shafted that mode several years running now.
