Ball four by Jim bouton

Just finished the book (audio book with free credit from audible) what an amazing book. Highly recommend it. Jim was a pitcher from the 60s he basically kept a diary for a whole season. He played in a time with Mickey Mantle, Harmon killabrew, joe Morgan and alot of great players from that era. He makes the life of a ball player seem so simple while also portraying how much the game has changed.
Worth a read!

Always meant to read it.
Thanks for the reminder! -
I read the book in the early 70's after it came out. Jim Bouton threw gas in his early years with the Yankees but overuse caused him arm troubles and that's when he began to throw the knuckleball. He was also a partner with Rob Nelson who created "Big League Chew Bubblegum". Book was great and had some real funny stuff. Now Joe (Morgan) can you tell me the difference between a curveball and a mofo curveball LMAO.

I got a kick out of "beaver watchin" lol
That and how basically everyone taking greenies and drinking before and after every game. It made it seem like a beer league.

Also I belive there was more added to the books after it came out. In the later additions he talks about his comeback with the Braves and him bouncing around amateur baseball. Also about him getting invited to old timer game with the Yankees. (After some sad news)
