Event Try hards/goons

Is it me or are there a bunch of try hards/goons playing the event right now or am I just getting bad luck with my matchups? My god, I’m decent at the game. But I’m just getting beat down right now

What exactly is a Try hard? I see guys post about this a lot. I’m pretty sure we all enter a matchup to compete for a win. Now I get it if the person is doing the R2 spamming and bunt cheese and yada, yada, yada, but if they are just trying to pitch and hit well then isn’t that the point?

I would guess a “try hard” would be bunting with speedy players, bunting when a player has the shift against them and maybe switching hitters out that have better matchups. To me a try hard would be R2 spamming and pausing a million times to try and get me to quit. Other than that I consider everything else baseball, events or not people are not playing to lose.

A try hard to me is somebody that tries so hard to win they lose sight of having fun. I think it gets misused here though and the way OP used it "better players than himself" is not really what try hard means. A try hard will try so hard he eventually fails because he tries too hard to be good. In MUT it gets used a lot too and usually is somebody using it to describe a player repeating the same OP plays over and over taking the actual fun out of playing the game.

Exactly. If you want to stare at your screen and not try then what is the point in trying to gain wins and get the reward? If I'm not trying it's just going to take me that much longer to get the rewards. If you want to play a brain dead mode just play offline

The event has been brutal for me. I guess I count as a Try Hard, but I've only won a single game so far.

I think it seems like we're playing better players because we're throwing a lot of average pitchers at them. My team isn't quite as good since I haven't got a lot of good live series.

I’ve played around 110 event games this year.
I think I’ve matched up against 2 opponents with losing records.

R2 Spam, watching/replaying HRs, flash pausing, taking forever pitching intentionally…..seems pretty obvious, but also it could just be that you have a certain vision of your opponent in your mind and find ways to fulfill it.
