Yes me too (PS5) How does it not state that dude when it clearly says fixed a bug that’s preventing 120hz being enabled for matchmaking online
Because it says:
Fixed a bug that would prevent users from matchmaking online with 120hz Output enabled.
We could match make before at 60hz with 120hz enabled.
Like I said, I believe they will allow 120hz but the wording suggest they are just gonna fix the problem. So dont be disappointed if we can only do 60hz.

So obv if they fixed it then that means we can play online with it enabled smh

SMH, no. If they fixed it it means we could go back to playing like before.
Matchmaking with 120hz enabled. Except we didnt have 120hz, it just didnt affect us.

Regardless, the game doesn't run at 120fps offline or online. If it did it would be butter smooth. It dips well into the 30's and 40's on all the new consoles. What they should really focus on is maintaining 60fps at all times.

I dont know where you are getting this from but it isnt accurate. If someone is using a 60 hz max panel the game will play in a high resolution mode and will max at 60 fps and with VRR on will go up and down between 40-60 fps. But if they are playing on a higher refresh rate panel that can do 120 hz the FPS will maintain well over 60 FPS. It wont do a steady 120 FPS but that is why VRR is so important. And the Series X will do a higher framerate than a PS5. I think the Series X is just a little more powerful.
But all in all you are correct, it doesnt run at 120 fps all the time.

I've got a series X and a 165hz Freesync premium / gsync monitor. As a PC gamer that is well accustomed to both 60fps gaming and high refresh gaming, I promise you that regardless of the resolution or the 60/120 setting on the Series X the game frequently dips well below 60fps.

I wouldnt doubt that, but that is what VRR is for. Most dips are in cut scenes. VRR allows any other dips to be smooth and not screen tear. But the game maintains high framerates for the most part. Definitely not 120 FPS consistently but better than 60 FPS for sure.

The problem is that the game drops below the minimum threshold for VRR to be activated and then falls back on traditional vsync which is why those cut scenes look so stuttery or like their in slow motion because it"s duplicating frames while it waits for the renderer pipeline to catch back up and draw a new frame.
