Im not too knowledgeable about all this 120hz VRR talk so im coming to you guys to hopefully set me in the right path to take regarding my monitors settings for my PS5.

I only play The Show atm, i have a 28in samsung G7 with 4k, hdr, 144hz, hdmi 2.1 and VRR capability.

There are 2 modes on my monitor, PC and AV.

In PC mode I can use VRR but my fps in the show is 60.

If i turn AV mode on im no longer able to turn vrr on in ps5 settings but my fps is 120 in game.

Should i use PC or AV?

    Thanks in advance

    VRR capabil

I have the same monitor. It looks like AV is better for performance.

Right but you lose the VRR. I just want a faster game, meaning the least possible input lag.

The question (to me, a novice in this vrr field) is the lowest input lag produced with vrr on and 60 fps or vrr off and 120 fps?

It doesn’t play at 120 fps so you might as well turn on VRR OFFLINE ONLY. Online you won’t be able to match.

I'd have to try the two different options. MLB the Show caps at 60hz refresh on either 4k or 1080p, so I'm thinking 120 fps may not make a difference online. Although the monitor can run up to 120fps, I'm not sure it would actually overclock the game at that framerate.

I've been playing with VRR on the past couple days. I haven't been dealing input lag issues. In fact, I'm early on a lot of pitches. But the VRR hasn't solved the embedded defects within the game, i.e. the RNG and flawed hitting system with PCI placement.

That monitor runs VRR, 4K, 120 hz on Xbox.

Id stick with pc, 60 fps and vrr.
