I mean... it's a Sony owned company. Doubt Sony has limited resources.

Very true. However, this can be a double-edged sword. Sony can look at SDS as a cash-cow. The game has been relatively "rinse and repeat" for the last few years, servers still seem to be an issue... so maybe Sony isn't making a huge investment here.

Probably not a huge profits either; when they check their books they probably go « not in the red? Moving on… ». It’s a safe little market presence. IMO of course

I'm guessing that the President of Sony has a dashboard in his office showing the number of stubs sold per day. When he sees a dip, he calls SDS and says "STUB SALE NOW!!!!".

Probably not. But it would be awesome if it was true.

I have the image in my head of a Japanese CEO on the 50th floor in Tokyo talking in japanese and English subtitles reading "What the f... are stubs??"

Yet since they been around they put all other baseball games to shame and ran them out of town. I never owned a PlayStation until ps 4 and all I ever heard was how good this game was. So I finally stopped modding my last copy of MVP 2005 and bought the PS for The Show and never looked back. Probably the best sports game ever made. Even with the problems we have now. And tbh most of the problems, in fact all of the issues I have are online related, not necessarily with the game itself.

Tbh the Offline gameplay itself is almost flawless IMO. All of my issues are with online games as well. I don't play Franchise or RTTS until the end of the year so I can't speak on those

I definitely didn’t get into the right profession,Teachers here have it [censored] good. A year round salary even though you don’t work in the summer, any time you whine the government throws tax payers dollars at you, and all you have to do is babysit for about 5 hours of the day.

    So much disinformation!

I actually get the summer, 2 weeks for Christmas, 2 weeks for Spring Break, a 4 day Easter break, and various other days off. 😃

And it's more like 6-7 hours a day.

But if you have a stack of essays to grade, which is the running normal for me, and had to prep for the year during summer break, which almost all teachers do, you'd understand that it's a job where you take your work home with you almost constantly. And the stress of being "on" all the time is real.

But do enjoy my summers! 😃

I've never checked out SDS as a company before Based on their 2004 web 2.0 homepage, error message when attempting to apply for a job and seeing that the average salary is around $77k for a video game programmer in the San Diego area (which is the same as $40k for someone down south) - we're clearly dealing with a small business with limited resources.

They last game they made aside from The Show was in 2017

Clearly they're not attracting the best and brightest in the industry. I worked for MLB.com/Bamtech a few years back and I'm assuming they're on or just above the level of the RBI production crew who sat in the section next to mine.

This year, it's far more about microtransactions due to the bad rewards (aside from the main program bosses) and removal of TA - you gotta rip packs. So you either spent 1/2 your day flipping/echanging or pony up real dollars to have any shot at coming close to the LS collection. Play 16 hours a day to complete RS unless you're a top, top player.

With that said - if you're moving in the direction of microtransactions, those funds HAVE TO BE reinvested in to finding better talent in the production/coding department. If they're not and you come out with the same BS next year...well....RIP

    Good luck

I have played a lot. This includes a DeGrom I got for a 12-1 BR run. Like usual, I haven't been given anything from this game. I looked at collections yesterday and in order to complete the NL East (since I already have DeGrom and am interested in Utley), I would have to basically sell my Pujols, Yelich and Price. Yea, no thanks. Without selling those guys and selling every other thing I could, I couldn't finish the NL East. For me to have played this much and could only afford one division by selling my best cards makes me believe I won't be doing collections unless I get something like a Trout, which I have never pulled in a pack.

We are not being too hard. This company has been making this game for YEARS. This game should be in a much better state. I had an event game where I had 6 good timing in the pci swings and had ZERO hits. Yes, zero. I don't know what the purpose of hitting in this game is if it isn't to get good timing swings in the pci. Opponent had 1 good hit all game, a HR to win the game. Or the game where I had 2 good timing almost center pci swings with Pujols and Acuna against a LH that were routine fly balls. 100+ power on these but opponent's 70 power Mookie hits a no doubt on a non-perfect swing. I have had about 6 perfect fly balls all people with more power that hasn't left. This company will continue to sleep walk since they are the only game in town.

I bought this game knowing what I was in store for. Actually, I did not expect it be worse than 18.

I played A LOT of online last year, getting all the RS rewards (through wins, not getting to WS). With hitting the way it is and the ridiculous inning requirement -- no thanks.

So I'm playing the single player DD along with lots of Franchise, even though that mode is the neglected [censored] step-child starving in the dungeon of the SDS castle.

Don't have the emotional energy to come home and play a game that enrages me through RNG or tells me how much I suck. So I won't anymore! I'll get the cards I want, and be fine with not having all of them.

I do have the LS done with some really lucky pulls, though, so that helps. (Trout, Acunax2, DeGrom, Soto, lots of others)

Game is in rough shape, and the way hitting is contradicts the description of "Competitive" as a mode setting.

I'm. Yes. We certainly DO work in the summer. And you have NO IDEA what teachers do. Very ignorant statement buddy.

100%. People don’t realize now much the stress job has.

Students, parents, admin, and school boards are constantly judging you. Only one of which actually has firsthand experience in your classroom and they are children.

In my current job, I never think about it once the day is done. With teaching I was always grading, planning, involved in extra curriculars, or communicating with the people mentioned above. And that’s just teaching. You’re also playing role model, mentor, babysitter, social worker, and lately even security officer.

It’s the most over educated, low paid, under appreciated profession.

Just to be clear, my "disinformation" post was tongue-in-cheek, of course.

Teaching is one of those professions where the highs are really high, and the lows are abysmal.

The truth is you have to be "born to do it" for it not to be soul-crushing on a regular basis....

The education system in Canada is doing far better than the U.S., as is the health of their democracy. The benefits and pay of teachers has a lot to do with both.

You say that, until you actually sit in a classroom and listen to what they are teaching these kids.

Says the guy who just posted "all you have to do is babysit for about 5 hours of the day". lolololol
