Is that just cosmetic like HR/9? It does nothing at all, I just had an opponent in an event game foul off 18 pitches outside the zone, a couple tried to bounce.

Can we just delete the outer PCI out of the zone maybe. I feel like that should be an all or nothing type deal. You get the PCI to it congratulations. You miss it or have poopoo timing it's a swing an miss.

I'm tired of having inflated pitch counts because I can't get people out.

Had a beautiful 16 pitch AB against me last night. 7 early swings on balls a foot off the outside corner and he made contact with all of them. I'm like how are you swinging that early and still making contact on a ball a foot outside?

If you ask me it's all to mess with the pitcher confidence/energy, which in turn dictates offense.

We've all been cruising online against a guy who swings at everything and we're at 45 pitches thru 6. Suddenly this guy turns into Tony Gwynn and becomes a foul ball machine. There goes all that confidence you built up. The programming always has the last say.

Worst part is, the more pitches they foul off, more they’re rewarded with good hit outcomes

Are people using contact swing a lot? Obviously they did remove the opponents pci feedback so you can’t tell.

Not trying to sound arrogant, but I use normal and a little power swings and typically don’t chase out of the zone, so I’m curious what people are doing to get the results you see when opponents foul everything off.

I 100 percent agree with this….seems like you can take a ball or two and put a good swing at a ball for an out….if it’s off center in the pci it’s almost always an out….seems kind of ridiculous in comparison to getting 10 chances fouling balls off.

If you play pretty good players from time to time I find it pretty easy to tell. I get a few lucky foul balls as well but the 7-10 straight fouls over a foot outside are most likely contact swings. When it’s every batter all game it definitely is. Amazing/good players don’t chase those, average/okay players with contact swing do, and they basically get rewarded. They drain stamina like crazy until you really can’t do much.

It wouldn’t be so frustrating if they didn’t come out and say “don’t worry guys we’ve made changes to swings and fouls outside” during the gameplay stream. One of the FEW gameplay changes they made, which appears to either be false, or just improperly implemented. I wouldn’t be surprised if the PCI is expanding outside the zone lol

As I said earlier, I think this.......Outer PCI is part of the Player Retention Plan. Its not going away. Especially since X-Box came out last year and Switch this year.
