Can someone please explain how this works "gated xp"
-
I played a season, won the world series, got a bunch of xp for faces of the franchise program. Did the off-season, started season 2 same team. Made it to all star break and it said I don't get any xp for this save??

So is there no point in playing a second season if you're grinding MTO for xp?
-
I went to start a new MTO, there is now a silver star next to the team I used in the previous save. If I use this team again in a new MTO, will I earn xp or do I need to use a different team?

I'm so frustrated. The game doesn't explain any of this at all and it's a lot of time to invest just to learn my efforts were all for naught.
Thanks in advance

Good questions - can't provide an answer. Possible one MTO season correlates to a monthly FOF. I'm hoping if we continue an existing MTO with a new monthly FOF in May the XP counts towards that program. Perhaps someone from SDS can confirm.

Update: started a new save with a new team and got my gated xp at the mid-season checkpoint. Still don't have any other answers but at the very least, if you're grinding, you CAN earn the big xp bonuses but only if you are playing a 2022 season. If you take your team into 2023 you won't get the bonuses

You dont get xp after season 1. Pretty sure thwy stated that in their stream, im almost sure I heard it.

I'm still getting it. the only time I don't is the game exp when I'm disconnected from the internet .
I haven't done it this year, but last year if you reset too much it wouldn't give you affinity points. Could be that...
