I don't understand why Don Sutton takes the place of my CAP and not a position player

I'm going to guess it's because he's the highest rated guy on my team, but I also have FOTF Mitch Hanniger who is rated 90 OVR also.
I keep catching myself before I jump in a game, but do you think Don Sutton would start at SS for me onlne?
May try it later for a laugh. I know I'm not the only one this is happ to.
