Rtts designated hitter

I’m grinding my rtts pitcher for dd after doing a few position players. Why does rtts have a Dh and no way outside training to improve my hitting stats. Then dd makes us bat with our pitchers when Dh is now standard. If I can’t improve the stats don’t make me bat with that player. It’s the same as asking my position player to pitch all the time online with base stats.
