Baseball is fun.
I don't get choked up a lot. That was extremely cool and showed what a great guy he is, and what a fighter Cloe is. Plus he made a rad web gem catching a foul pop out in full slide while pitching in a blowout a few days before. He's one of the good guys.
I knew this all happened, but the local ABC station here in NY has been covering this feel good story all morning. When digging a bit, you can find full versions of the interaction with them before the game, the whole interview during his at bat etc.
Really really really is great to see baseball players as humans. In particular when it's somebody as grounded as Brett Phillips who is thankful on many levels to be playing a game at this level for real enjoyment and as an inspiration to kids and families.

Also, he's one of two maybe 3 players to Pitch 2+ innings and then Homer in his next game. Shohei being the other of course...Thought a saw a third name on the list, but not sure.

2005 WS, hoped for the best and didn't get it. When Houston and NY both went AL, I took Houston as #1, Yankees 2. Yankees got dumb around 2009. Stopped really rooting for them but don't mind them winning against anyone except Houston.

Yes. I had my boys dress up with both old Yankee and Astros gear to watch the game. Hehe.
In addition, when the Astros come to Yankee stadium, you'll usually see me sitting behind home plate for one of the 3 games.

Dave Roberts. He doesn’t understand or care how important things like that are too players and fans or just great for baseball. There has only been 20 something perfect games in the history of baseball. I would love to see another.

I still read baseball books because I love the history but choking down an article nowadays takes a calculator and a cup of coffee.

There's really bad filters on this forum. I've been censored twice today for words that are used on Disney Junior.
