Stuck advancing to 2nd season

I went through the off-season AAA , got a new contract, they show spring training but won’t let me play.
So I simmed spring training and it advances to the regular season but i hit play next appearance and it just sits there when I hit A .. I am able to back out of it so it’s not frozen

Nah tips? I’ve got 2 players like this now ha ha.
