Since I'm afraid to do another failed Mini-Season, I went back to do some USA conquest. I'm playing the Brewers, snoozing through the 3rd inning with a 2 run lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, the CPU goes off, smashing 2 base hits on good pitches, then a HR to walk it off.
I snap out of my fog, re-enter the stronghold, enter the 3rd with a 3 run lead, and I get beat again. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit all this, but you're all my friends out here. Right? I mean... right?
P.S. I am glad that the CPU is putting up more of a fight this year.

Had to beat 2 Braves strongholds last night; took me 5 games. Happens, especially early in the year when grinding PXP with golds and bronze BP arms because you have only 2 players from the Red Sox for City Connect missions.

Of course, I'll finish the year 157-8 in Conquest on AS, but I'll remember it as the CPU cheating his way to an almost .500 record.

I made one little change that has worked wonders for me but i am too afraid to announce here because it might get nerfed. It has to do with pitching though.

It’s alright; I had a tip to steal bases offline last year that I kept to myself and that I didn’t see floated here, but they’ve taken that away too.

Lets just say, when it comes to pitching, sometimes the newest stuff isnt best. Even though it may have been last year. At least vs CPU.

One thing I’ve found when grinding against the cpu in mini season or conquest is if I field a mostly silver and bronze team it can be difficult. It’s because I have no vested interest in these players. They are only in so I can complete what ever xp leg of what ever program. What I do though is I load the bench with my go two guys. If an important moment comes up I’ll sacrifice mission xp to smack that smug grin off the CPU’s face. I’ll put one of my big bats in as a pinch hitter. Ive had plenty of success doing this. Almost to the point that I wonder if it’s programmed in for me to succeed in this situations.

Yeah, sucks when I have a big moment and I need a LH bat, hesitate and finally go with... Billy Williams. Most generic, boring LF in the history of Hall of Very Good player there is

If there's a new one, haven't found it yet. But what I was doing last year doesn't work anymore... it was more a way to ensure that no pickoff were attempted than stealing per say.
