what do the little numbers next to overalls mean?
-
like some cards are an 88 but say 90 or 82 and say 80 in the corner...whats that mean
-
It means inside edge is effecting their ratings so they are either playing up or down accordingly. This only effects live series cards.

Inside edge/parallel boost

The season hasn't even started tho so why are they boosted

Yeah it's weird. Usually they wait until they are actually playing. Also parallel boost will make those numbers go up.

Games are being played, it's spring training.

I'm pretty sure that isn't why some cards have IE though. As they have never done it before for exhibition games. And if that was the case everyone playing would be affected and yet only some cards are getting IE. Think it's just a glitch or maybe they have it for their opening day game already. iDK

Right - I haven't seen this in prior years. I'm guessing it's not Spring Training related, but possibly a carrryover from last year?
In that case, LS Tim Anderson is at 81 but should have a 90 in the corner. Right? Right.

Now that I think of it, I agree. I don't remember seeing it in years past. I just assumed that was the reason.

It's not spring training related if you click Y on the card and tab over to inside edge it tells you the Match-up info. As most starting pitcher info is released a few days prior the inside edge boost is active to reflect their opening day match-up.
