Catcher Blocking

Is there a way to increase this attribute? Seems like a bug that as a catcher it does not go up at all throughout an entire season.

What’s funny, is that if a ball is in the dirt and you don’t “catch” it with the glove mechanic, it actually decreases your blocking but the animation shows you blocking the pitch and keeping the ball in front of you, which, is exactly the purpose of blocking
