I have only played DD right now, but in past years, I always used the L2 to track the ball better and to watch the play closer as the player ran the bases. Moving the right stick is too slow to catch things happening. Does anyone know? Maybe there is a setting I missed? I thought I went through them all, but I could be wrong.

Yeah it’s irritating me too. You can hit R1 and it will focus on the ball but it doesn’t zoom in like with L2.

This was very useful when running the bases because it’s not easy to tell exactly where the ball is going or if it’s going over the fielders head. Hopefully it’s just a glitch and they didn’t get rid of it.

Yeah it's [censored] cheeks. They seem to take away camera options every year. I remember when fielding in road to the show you used to be able to zoom in with L2 and now you can't do that or track the ball either.

I noticed this yesterday doing moments. I have no idea why they took that out.

It makes no sense why they would remove it. Without it, there is no way to really know how well the ball was hit and how close the fielder is to making a play on it.

It really takes away from this being a simulation and just turns it more into an arcade game

This is an absolute inconvenience to base running now in RTTS. There’s no way to track the ball at a good enough height to know whether or not to advance bases. Its a pure guessing game while on base. There needs to be a patch to put L2 toggle back into play ASAP

Yea clicking R3 is not the same as the L2 toggle to broadcast camera, that R3 function is a total nightmare πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Does it do the same as what L2 and it’s just more difficult to control? Or does it do something different?

Nope it just gives a ground level view from where your player is to the ball. It doesn’t give a camera angle of over top or broadcast nor does it zoom worth anything.
