Please help- ohtani not hitting
-
I started up a new franchise and I like to do a sim league style and traded for ohtani but he’s not DHing on his days off from pitching. Any way to fix this without playing every single game?

Amazing the guy's been in the league for 3 years now and SDS still haven't implented a proper two way system lol.

Nope. I tried, can't do it.
I even used him to pinch-hit in a National League park, but he was automatically entered into the game to pitch. Couldn't take him out until he faced 3 batters. Just a poor job of implementing his unique situation into the game.

In my Franchise he is DH on most of his off days. He has been the designated hitter in two out of four games. He was the starting pitcher in game one. Then, he had game two off, and started game three and four as the designated hitter. With that said, I don’t play as the Angles, but I checked the box scores for each of the Angels’ games.
If you play as the Angles you can’t put him in DH spot when you set the lineups outside of entering a game. Lastly, once you click “play full game” you can adjust the line up and add him as DH. This can also be done in Play Now.
In short, you can’t place him at DH in roster control or the lineup section, but the cpu will make the adjustment prior to the start of the game (when simulating) or you can make the adjustment prior to the start of playing a game.
Anyways, just thought I’d pass this information along. Enjoy the Show!

No matter who is used to pinch hit in a National League game, you have three options; one, you can enter the player as a double switch, or two, make double switch when the option pops up before you take the field, or three, just replace with another pitcher when prompted. If you let the pinch hitter take the mound, then yes, he has to face three batters. You can’t take him out like in past years after he appears on the mound.

I wonder why he is DH in my league but not yours, interesting!
Anyways, I have control all teams, on. My profile for all teams is manual everything. I preset the lineups, but the CPU is inserting Ohtani to replace who ever is in the DH spot for that day except the day after he took the mound. I manually sim all the games from the daily schedule except for the two teams that I play as.

In franchises where I don’t trade for him he DH’s with the angels. The issue I find is if I move him away from the angels he no longer DH’s

Last reply, I’m just trying to help!
I just tested a Franchise with the Angles. And I simulated each game and even though he is not in the preset lineup; the cpu has him in the final box score as the DH. He seems to be at DH through most games. Thanks for all the help. But yeah it seems when I trade him it stops working

That's not true - at least not in my case. He was automatically entered into the game after Pinch-Hitting. None of those screens came up as an option. The inning ended and then he just appeared on the mound.
