New commentators
This stuff is still going on? I hadn't played in a few days but came back after the patch. Is this still a thing? What's the point of playing if user input doesn't matter?
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do that in this game. I can't even pinch-hit with Ohtani without being forced to pitch with him the next inning. He automatically appears on the mound when the inning is over. They really need to fix Ohtani's usage options.
The commentary is very stale and generic, which is disappointing. I like playing on Broadcast mode and it would be more fun if they had better announcers. Or at least phrases from Vasgersian that haven't been used for 10+ years. Even worse, they don't make sense half the time!
Am I the only one that cares about the quality of the broadcasting team?
Here are some examples of head-scratchers:
With Mike Trout batting and Matt Thaiss on deck, Plesac claims enthusiastically that he'd rather face the guy in the batter's box than the guy in the on deck circle.
DeRosa suggesting a nasty slider down and away is coming (my pitcher did not have a slider in his pitch repertoire)
DeRosa suggesting a win could give the team momentum for the rest of the season (team I was playing in Franchise mode had lost 8 of 9.) Problem is, it was the last game of the season and they had been eliminated from playoff contention weeks earlier.
After 2-run HR in the 2nd inning... "That is such an important run here in the top of the 1st" - Mark DeRosa
At the end of the 16th inning, Vasgersian affirms "no runs here in the bottom of the 9th, and we're going to extra innings!"
My submission into the suggestion box is this: New commentators or a significant revision to the current state of commentary.
After 7 weeks of playing this game, I've seen enough to realize the gameplay is awful. I like the content, but my desire to play has been steadily declining. There are so many laughable animations that it makes the game pointless.
The only way it gets better is if they see paying customers start to leave the game. Maybe some real improvements will finally be made.
I haven't noticed any difference since the patch. Online or offline.
Outfielders and infielders are still morons, making consistent errors on routine plays.
Once or twice a game, a fielder won't even realize a baseball is coming his way, and it falls harmlessly to the ground.
Infielders still spike throws into the dirt, even with a perfect button release. They still throw lollipops to first base and outfielders still push against the wall for no reason.
Fielders still have no 'internal clock' and as such, their animations/movements remain lethargic, allowing runners to be safe for no reason. These are just a few of the several fielding issues I've noticed today.
Offline franchise player on Legend here. CPU batters will destroy anything left over the middle of the plate, but just mix your pitches effectively and stay on the corners. They will chase. I'm at the point where it's nearly impossible for the CPU to beat me, even though I'm nothing special in online play.

95%+ of the time you will face guys will full diamond teams, doesn't matter what division you are in. Not talking about FotF diamonds either, credit card diamonds. I suggest you get credit card out like most or grind for those FotF and XP diamonds.
The mode is unplayable if I'm matched up against superstar teams. No way I'm buying players. Back to franchise I go...
You guys must suck at fielding. I've never seen this happen
I had the same issue until today. Seems to be working fine now.

Just an example. https://twitter.com/harrisville318/status/1257847512335032327?s=09
This is the biggest problem with the game, in my opinion. I'm already playing way less, I can't see myself playing at all unless contact results are altered drastically.

The defense is the worst the series has ever seen. This latest patch has made the cpu totally overpowered. Game was solid on 1.10. I'm tired of this trash year after year. I bought a PS4 solely for this game and it's degraded year after year. These [censored] developers listen to the [censored] fanboy children who can't hit a lick and want the game to be easy and so they cater to the wrong demographic all to make an extra buck. I'm disgusted to the point that it's just not worth it anymore. Hurts to say this may be my last iteration of the game. Not gonna continue donating $65 per year for garbage. The game plays just fine, if not great, offline.

The same gameplay issues that plague online play are prevalent in offline play. It's the inconsistent contact results, fielding blunders, and perfect pitch releases going haywire. That's the core of the game and those problems exist regardless of what mode you're playing.

Anyone who says perfect perfect isn’t always a hit. During the beta perfect perfect had and 800 average. I would guess it’s about 300 now. Like I posted yesterday, had a game where I went 1 for 5 on perfect perfects, and every player has 80 power or higher. In week one I played a game where I had 8 and my opponent had 5 that went for hits.
.300 is my estimate too. Just off the top of my head, perfect/perfect contact generates about 108-110 mph exit velocity on average. In real life, balls hit that hard are probably close to .750. They definitely screwed up this whole perfect/perfect thing. Good idea, bad implementation.

If you think that's bad look at these I guess my roommate The videos from game 6 smh The hit result from game 7 a HR what require good contact results? https://twitter.com/baseball_lol/status/1261196544776142848?s=19

That is so bad. Good grief.
I agree with all of your points. Little details like these make a huge difference for me. I could add about 100 to the list, but unfortunately I think it's a waste of time. I'm not confident they will make any changes to Franchise mode.
I noticed "Play by play adjustments and corrections" as a patch note. Is it possible to provide details on this? What was adjusted and corrected? For me, improving the broadcast quality is right up there with fielding fixes. Thank you!
