Can’t access PS5 version

UPDATE: It finally showed up just now, just select it from your home menu on the bottom right if you have the PS4 version downloaded. Thanks to those who helped out
I entered the code that was given in the physical MVP edition of MLB 22. I have a confirmation that I redeemed the code but when I try to download the PS5 version, it says I have to buy it again. Since the game isn’t out yet, is that why I can’t download the PS5 version? Not sure what to do here

Try downloading it after 9pm pacific today. I’m surprised it won’t let you because the DD version has been downloaded for a few days on my PS5.
Did you check your game library to see if it’s there?

They should find the game in their library under "purchased". If they can't, I'd call Playstation.

For those where it doesnt show on the home screen:
I was having the same issue this morning. The PS5 version wasnt showing anywhere with my MVP edition physical disc and such. But then i went into the PS Store and on the home screen for the PS Store, I saw a 'button' for MLB the Show 22 and clicked on it, to see what it registered as me having, and it came up with the Free PS5 upgrade right there. You just claim that upgrade and itll let you start downloading.my PS5 version is downloading as we speak (while I play on my Series X)
(Sorry about the xbox icon, i have it on xbox, PS AND switch this year and my Xbox pre-order came first)
