But does anyone remember how SDS handled the late start of the season?

With the news that are least the first two series are cancelled, and the possibility that the season itself may be cancelled, I'm now on the fence about purchasing 22.

I realize that they can still recycle old MA/TN cards from previous releases; but if I wanted to use those cards; I'd break out those games.

They also had Team Affinity broken into 30 programs, 1 for every team, plus I believe they had extreme and all time team programs.

I am still optimistic that the season will start 1 month late. It sort of seems like the owners have decided they can do without the first month, especially with expanded playoffs because they don't make a ton in April anyway with bad weather etc.

I do think this could absolutely devolve into a season ending issue but I seriously doubt everyone will leave that much money on the table. These are greedy egomaniacs here.

I disagree about April earnings. The first month is in theory a great month to make money as it the start of a fresh season and the stadiums are usually packed regardless of the weather. In fact the clubs that don’t usually play well even see decent crowds the first month.

Yeah, I'm just stating what I've heard about the owners. It seems like the first month would be a solid one for ticket sales in most places. I live in SD. In year where the Padres stink (of which there are many) they usually have great crowds in April because it's new, like the Del Mar races every year.

If there’s no baseball, I’m probably gonna want MLB22 even more. I know that probably sounds counterintuitive.

I am right there with you. There WILL be baseball. Even if it's entirely made up of conquests, Battle Royals and Player Programs. In the absence of real baseball, I need my fix somehow.

For everyone who needs to see change implemented and feels that this game is a big disappointment, I'm not judging your frustration. But this is the first time I'll know what I'm doing when the year starts, and I had a blast in 2021. You'll see me on April 1, flipping cards, opening show packs full of empty picture commons and commenting about who the bosses will be each inning. Can't wait.
