can someone explain to me the tech testing?

Nothing saves. There might be a pack reward for participating. You are basically doing a beta test of the game for feedback.

There will be a gold player pack for participating, but it's mostly for thoughts and feedback

This is purely a technical test. This allows us to test our servers as well as get feedback from players. Progress is isolated to just the tech test with nothing carried over to the final version of game.
