I’d like to see dashboard punishment come to fruition. Let’s punish these kids that dashboard out of rage after giving up a homer by banning them for short periods of time when an unauthorized disconnect happens. It’ll stop the practice pretty fast. And to preemptively retort to those who say that not all disconnects are dashboards the answer I have is then they are offline anyways so the 20 minute ban won’t affect them. It’s the dashboarders who will be made to suffer the consequences of this. Other games have done it so why not this game.
Will never happen unless they switch to dedicated servers. To many server issues to distinguish whether or not a person actually dashboard or there was a server error.
Or better yet, let the play count.

That would be the better solution imo. Make it so that the quit is pointless so that the other player will be rewarded for being a good sport.
How about extra rewards for players who don't quit on a regular basis?

What are you talking about? If we had dedicated servers there would be no dashboard disconnects. And yes I’m well aware that it’s likely not going to happen but other games have implemented cooldown periods like what I just described to deter dashboarding. In fact COD did exactly this prior to their game moving to Dedicated Servers several years back. And yes the devs have tools that can be implemented to detect illegal disconnects. And before you say something like a power outage happening or a random internet outage the cooldown period would only affect those who are habitual offenders. Meaning they would have to do it several time within a given period of time for this punishment to take effect. Someone who has the unfortunate power outage or internet outage would not qualify for a cooldown unless they too have been dashboarding throughout a given period of time. And yes there are tools that can track this with relative ease. It wouldn’t take much to code in the penalty. Maybe next time do some research before you write stuff that you have no clue what your talking about. Btw, when someone dashboards disconnects the play cannot count because it’s not a dedicated server. The reason for this is that the P2P connection has been interrupted. This is why people do it. It’s as if the previous play never happened.

Since I can't figure out how to isolate part of a quote; I'll refer to your last three sentences and reiterate my statement.
Until SDS switches to dedicated servers you'll have people dashboarding because they know the play WON'T count.
If people realize that the play will still count if will eliminate some of the dashboarding.
People may still dashboard because they just want to dashboard.
Punishing someone for something that has NO BEARING other than keeping people from obtaining stats won't happen.
Now, if dashboarding stopped the game from completing, thus resulting in a situation like it wasn't played, then there could be justification for punishing someone.
But losing a stat is miniscule at best and has no other bearing other than the player needs to accomplish it again.
Besides, if you hit 450 Homeruns with a player compared to 500; you the hell cares.

This game will never have dedicated servers period!!! Being an actual expert in the field of networking and server side maintenance a game like this doesn’t have the capital to run dedicated servers. A P2P server can never operate without both connections (you and your opponent) the second one person disconnects anything that happened prior to the disconnect that hasn’t already been logged (ie the completion of the simulation that just occurred) cannot count. With that being said other games have instituted penalties for intentional disconnects. And yes there are tools that can detect this and would only penalize habitual offenders. That would eliminate those that have legitimate issues like a power outage or an internet disruption. So please stop telling me that it can’t be done because it has already been done in other games that utilize P2P servers. I’m not saying this is a realistic request but it’s not like it can’t be implemented. And it wouldn’t be hard to code in. I’m done arguing with you on this point have a good night

I was worried about this. Here we go again, another of my thoughtful threads is being dragged down by an argument. It's fine if you wanna argue but do it in your own thread ok?

I like a lot of these ideas. I know your personal favorite Tigers are up there, I'd like to see a Lou Whitaker, Curtis Granderson, Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford, Magglio, Kirk Gibson to name a few and I'm a Cardinals fan (cough.....where is Scott Rolen....cough).
More stadiums would be nice, especially old school pro stadiums like old Tiger Stadium to name a few. All the cookie cutter 70s stadiums like riverfront, three rivers, Jack Murphey etc.
More repeatable conquest maps for sure. RIB is sooooo old.

SDS, if you like lists, here you go!
- The ability to do custom practice using my DD squad.
- Gameplay option for Designated Hitter in conquest and play vs cpu
- CPU-controlled MLB teams using their away uniforms if I play them at home with my DD squad. No BP uniforms, no retro home uniforms. I hate not being able to tell the players apart because of this bug.
- Fix the animation bug in replays, in which the batter hits a HR, begins his trot and does whatever with the bat. The player model just glitches out and he runs with the bat in his hands in an awkward way. You devs haven't noticed this???
- Magglio Ordonez Postseason card with the Tigers, plz. I might make a separate list for cards I want to see next year.
- But since we're talking about it can we get a Alan Trammell card that has better stats? Think 1984, y'all.
- The ability to throw a runner out 9-3
- Fix the frame rate drop when it's raining in games.
- Actual minor league stadiums. And more of them. Not just the same ones every year.
- FIX FIX FIX the stadium creator. SDS, that thing has so much potential if it could just be made better. This year was a good start, but it has issues. Improve it for next year. Add more stuff and let us play at night.
- More retro unis for the uniform collection! This was really fun and I'd love to see these uniforms from this year return, and some new ones too.
- I really enjoyed the parallel leveling system for the cards. That was fun and kept me playing more, so bring that back.
- More stadiums from years gone by?
- More customization options for DD uniforms. Ex: Patches on the shoulders. Three-color stripe options.
- Multiple slots to save custom uniform designs.
- Or even better, let us upload our uniforms to the vault so we can share our creations.
- More repeatable conquest maps (please humor this conquest addict lol)
- Fix the pinpoint pitching system. I've tried it multiple times but I guess it doesn't like Xbox controller sticks.
- Less server issues at the beginning of the game's cycle would be greatly appreciated. I know those issues always happen because life isn't perfect, but it would help some folks' blood pressure.
- More pitchers with the "pickoff artist" quirk. There are a lot of pitchers in this game that are/were really good at pickoffs but don't have the quirk. Clayton Kershaw, for example.
- Bring back the same collections stuff but also add more stuff. We love content and we love you for providing it!
- Put tattoos on player models? I don't do tattoos personally, but it seems weird that a lot of players who notably have tattoos in real life don't have them on their player model.
- Fix ejections or flesh them out some. Say I hit a batter and get a warning for it. The umpire clearly points at both benches, indicating that whichever pitcher hits a batter next faces immediate ejection. Why is it that if any of my pitchers hit a batter after that point they get ejected, but if the CPU pitcher hits one of my batters, the CPU pitcher isn't ejected? Huh?? It's a nitpick, sure, but it bothers me.
- RTTS sucked this year so please make it better.
- RTTS progression needs to not be so slow.
- The two-way player thing in RTTS is broken. Why is it that my player can't qualify for batting title or Cy Young??
- Please flesh out the announcers and their dialogue. I hear the same stuff all the time, and have had for years. I've muted them for the past few games now.
I'll add more as I think of them. What do y'all think?
Throwing out a runner 9-3 is a baaaaaaaad idea. Years ago it could be done and what you had were clowns taking advantage of a glitch. Nerfing the 9-3 putout was a very good thing they did!!
-
Bring on Tiger Stadium!

I hear what you’re saying. You wouldn’t believe how bad some animation glitches used to be. Years ago, let’s say you had a speed guy like Billy Hamilton on second or really anyone over 90 speed. Now this is no BS. You could lay down a bunt, and by the time the third baseman had charged, picked and threw to first…….You’re guy on second could legit score on that play. Especially if you’re first baseman had a slow throwing animation. Thank god they fixed that.

2K was sued by tattoo artists saying they owned. copyright over certain tattoos in the NBA game. A judge ruled in favor for 2K but it took many, many years to come to a decision. They also were sued for certain tattoos in their WWE game and they lost that. Not sure if an appeal is pending. I would imagine that Sony and SDS doesn't want to deal with that headache and high legal costs to put tattoos in the game.

Made some actual good points here. Except a few at the beginning. Mainly for Magglio and the DH. DH will be implemented as the MLB does. And the 9-3 PO and Trammell. They just fixed the 9-3 PO, doesnt happen in MLB often shouldnt happen here. Most of the rest I saw were pretty decent ideas. Maybe because of some of those silly early ideas in the post is why you didnt get too many thumbs ups or responses.
I agree with much of the rest except for things like
"RTTS sucked this year so please make it better."

Ahaha, I see now. I just haven't played RTTS for a while this year because it felt so mishandled. The agent still doesn't check up on you enough, the skill progression is grandmother slow, and my character still looks like a department store mannequin compared to the real players in the game. The fact that I can't qualify for the pitching or batting titles as a two-way player is also ridiculous, given what Shohei did.
