Wow Frame Rate Really Does Matter
-
I just hooked up my PS5 to an older Samsung plasma that I think is 24 Hz. I was playing the RIB Showdown and got absolutely blow away. Severino just destroyed me. I played again just to be sure, and I couldn't catch up to 91 mph fastballs from Huston Street. I've played that showdown probably 50 times or more and never once lost to Huston Street.
It might be more than just the frame rate. Could be processing speed, but still. Does show how hard SDS makes this game that the reaction time needed is that insane.
Would be nice if the game could get the EDID info from the TV and adjust itself. The game in unplayable on this TV

That tv sounds terrible. I play on an LG 55 inch 4k in game mode with HDR and I can mash outliers. I guess it just depends on the TV model...

I've mentioned this before, but make sure the PS5 and tv are on the same frame rate and resolution. I had a lot of issues because I plugged my PS5 into a different input than I had used before, and the frame rate and resolution were clashing with the PS5 settings. I haven't had any issues since I realized it and matched them up. It might not be what you are experiencing, but it never hurts to check the settings on all devices.
I thought all plasmas were 600 or minimum 60hz?

Not to turn this into a TV thread or anything but is the 120hz worth spending the extra money for? I'm on ps5 if that matters.

I've looked for the specs on my TV online and it looks like it does 60 Hz from the PC (VGA) input and maybe for 720 content, but from what I see, 1920x1080 is 24 Hz. Crazy right? The TV is from 2009 or early 2010.
The TV does have some old 3D features, so the more I think about it, it could be just slow processing.

This was a TV thread from the beginning
I don't know the answer to your question, but I spent a little more (like $100 or so) for "upscaling" on my new TV. The picture really looks nice. That was worth it.

Not for this game. And almost all other PS5 games honestly. Because they are capped at 60fps. Xbox is the only one really trying to take advantage of additional frame rates at this point. Hopefully PS5 gets VRR sometime soon and catches up to the times.
