Is this really fun for people?

I played a guy last night in BR. He literally bunted his first 7-8 batters. Even Reggie Jackson. He got a run out of it. I just don’t get it. Is that really fun?
-
For many players, yes.
-
Oh and bunt defense is your friend btw. Always use it against cheesy players.

I agree its so silly to bunt everyone , although the bunt defense suggestions posted above works and they usually quit if they cant bunt.

How do you adjust your defense, I've seen it done but I've never done it myself.

It's posts like this (not the OP but the player the OP is referring to) is why I don't like playing online. At my advanced age, I don't have patience for this kind of garbage anymore.

I had someone last year bunt, but like for a sacrifice, with each batter for 2.1 innings before quitting. His averages were near .000 with every guy. He squared around while I was in pitch selection, or the windup, and never attempted bunting for a hit. Bunt back to the pitcher if he put it in play. I just started throwing every pitch as high or low as I could. Couldve been a kid or something, but their pitching was normal. I couldnt understand that one.

I think the odd scripted gameplay makes people bunt more than anyone in their right mind would. It will end up on your side eventually because of what they have designed.
The other day I was in extras with someone who started bunting once it got into extras. They were not having luck, but somehow got the runner to third. Honestly can’t remember how. But there were two outs with Austin Riley at the plate. In my mind there is no need for a defensive change because bunting for a hit is the only way it works for them.
He immediately squares and bunts it hard towards first. Eddie Murray comes in hard to cut it off, but 2nd doesn’t cover and the pitcher stood on the mound then slowly tried to cover. Riley easily beats it out. Just doesn’t make sense in anyway. Wouldn’t that situation have the pitcher covering the third base line, SS covering the bag at 2nd and 2nd covering first….if for some reason Austin Riley bunts with two outs and a runner on third?

guys like this who bunt constantly will lose in RS if you just be patient - throw them absolute junk high and in or high and away - i don't even need to move my infield for this - they get annoying bunts sure but just focus on getting them out as fast as possible and they rarely will score more than 1 or 2 runs tops in a game - all you need to do is replay each HR you do so you can make them eat it during your eventual W

Depends. He could've been playing only to parallel his pitcher and just hunted to get the inning over faster.
I did that twice last night, in an Events game, when I was trying to get the 12 Ks with Milestone Hernandez so I could finish the FOD Program; before I realized that I could get them offline.

Yeah I just don’t get it. I’m not against bunting or trying to bunt for a hit. But this sort of thing makes no sense in the real world and is just used to exploit weaknesses in the game. They weren’t even particularly great bunts but geez if they weren’t all in just the right spot.

you've gotta be kidding me - i like to watch my homers - if you can't stomach that you are weak af - most of you guys just quit once you're down a run anyways

I was keen to get Cal in the event. Played the first game and the guy played me straight up. Second game, the guy bunted with every batter, hit R2 and was generally an [censored]. Needless to say, I didn't bother with Cal after that. I won both games, btw, so I'm not bitching because of that, there are simply too many asshats that play this game online to be bothered anymore.

You would only be able to watch one; because you wouldn't get another AB. There's no reason for showboating. Just like how there shouldn't be Sounds of the Game if you're the away team.

Some people can’t hit so it’s what they do unfortunately. Good thing is bunting isn’t very effective in MLB 16 it was a nightmare where you were pressured to play bunt defense with any fast batter.

you mean there is no reason to take an extra 10 seconds to watch a replay of your own home run? when you re-say it out loud - how ridiculous does it sound to you ?
