I batted left handed in real life, and I perform best with lefties in the game.

What about you guys? Do you perform better with batters who swing from the same side as you, the opposite side, or does it not matter?
FWIW, it's not like I'm awful with righties, but I feel more comfortable with lefties swinging. I'm curious if there's any correlation or if it's just me.

Same here. I bat left handed and hit much better with lefties

I also prefer lefty hitters although I am a righty (or was), however, if a lefty is pitching I have a tough time as a lefty. So basically I just want to hit the opposite side from the pitcher, but between the two, I prefer a lefty lineup against a righty pitcher.
I also prefer throwing with lefties for the most part. Good thread.

In my ridiculously great baseball career and continued beer league softball success I bat or batted righty. In the show I tend to bat better with lefties. I think it has more to do with how I read things.

Definitely hit better with lefties in this game. And was a pretty decent right handed hitter in real life. I hated righty vs righty for the longest time in this game, but getting a little better with it now. And I agree this is a great thread! I’ve wondered about this for awhile and never thought to ask

Im a righty but hit better with lefties. Im short and hit much better with short players. Maybe there is a little something to that. I will say I hit Better in righty vs righty matchups than I do left vs left. Perhaps that is having a ton more reps vs righties in real life? Maybe no real translatable real life experience but it is something I am also curious about!

Righty but vastly prefer lefty hitters. I use a different PCI setup for RH and LH hitters with LH being slightly inside and RH being low and in. People love to jam you so cheating in to me helps me turn on inside pitches better. But even with all that I turn on inside pitches way better with LH hitters than RH.

This may sound like the ultimate amateur question, but I'm trying to figure out a technique for the same thing. Do you hold the PCI on the inside half of the plate during the windup or just move it there once the ball is released? Do you look for the ball in a certain place and lay off if its not there? I have an issue with pushing the PCI the opposite way as if it were directional and need to improve that.
To add to the OPs point, I actually hit better with Fish Eye view because I can see my hitter and get a longer look at the ball and I think that has helped me with RH especially.

Same. Lefty batter, so am more at home with lefty batters

I setup with the PCI this way. I move it around pre windup to loosen up but otherwise setup slightly inside for LH and just slightly down and in for RH as I have more trouble getting to the lower corner for RH than upper so adjust pre-swing.

Awesome, thanks.
