Are semi-high risk investments worth it this late in the game?

I think buying and selling 200k plus individual cards can be risky, but if you must have some for the big collection they will rise. SDS will eventually cause the inning bosses to drop a good bit. Event cards will become RIB event rewards. If there is additional BR and RS program rewards people will obtain those cards overtime too.
There is also the question of what you need stubs for compared to what cards you already have. Content should start drying up over the next couple of months.
I was actually looking at a card that's around 40K and was three times that before they dropped these Finest packs. Was going to buy 10 of them and hope he jumped back up to even 80K.
But I just decided to buy a few collection cards that I needed to get a few Mookie and Kershaw vouchers.

There are a few cards I've been following the last few days, that DRASTICALLY dropped in price and was thinking of buying a handful of them in hopes that they go back up to where they were before the Finest packs dropped.
However, if they don't go back up, or even drop significantly more, than it would be a huge loss.
I do have everyone that I want, at the moment, other than maybe one or two players, so I don't really need the stubs and I'm sure I can make some back from the TA5 drop.
Just wondering if it's worth the gamble.
Drop in price? Are we looking at the same market, NSDAQ?
I paid 270K for Verlander 3 days ago. He's now 150-170K.
I paid 160K for Lindor 2 days ago. He's now around 105K.
I paid 22K each for Greene, Doby, and Aparicio when they were at that price for a few days steady. Now they are 10K each.
Sig Miller was around 160K before the Finest packs were released. Now he's around 50K.
So yeah, they're dropping.
I was being sarcastic. Tuesday around noon, I was sitting on about 4 mil. Currently, I'm at 35k. A few hours ago I was just over 4k.

Why do I get the feeling you've made some future investments as well as solidifying your collection? Either way, it's the right move. There is no guarantee this will drop further and every indication it will rebound. I wish I'd waited on some cards myself.

Edit: of course looking at the market now and what I bought within the last few weeks; I probably overspent around 400-500K anyway, so why not go broke. Lol
No. It's not worth it.

Yeah, I skipped investing and just bought some cards to fill in sets that didn't have enough 'free' cards in them to at least get Kershaw. Minus a few including TN and Monthly Awards as I haven't enough finished those yet.

Definitely. I'd compare me to a cat when someone has a laser pointer. It's just too much to resist. I wish I would have waited until last night.

If your goal is to flip cards to earn profit in stubs to buy cards going for 500K plus. Then I suggest you do it immediately. Devote 1 day to buy & sell back as much as you can. Take advantage of the spread it currently has on certain cards. Do NOT buy cards to hold on to planning to sell a week or more from now. The pricing on cards 300k & less will just continue to go down. Only the cards that are 500K plus will have "buy now" staying high & as well will having "sell now" staying high & making that card not viable to flip once you take account the 10% lost.

There are literally no cards going for 500k right now. None.

For "now" currently there is not. But on the next season of Ranked starting on 11/29 & releases its final top prize card & same with BR when the final 1 hits & as well with the final Events after this 1. And also the 10th Inning boss cards. All of those cards will be sold easily over 500K & will continue to do so for 1 to 2 months after they hit the market.

Highly doubtful. Once the initial million stub order backlog is cleared, these will drop fast as there is literally nothing left that is going to be significantly better than the finest cards coming out today. And with rewind packs for events AND the RS/BR programs (which will almost assuredly reset every month until 22 releases), supply is going to be large.
