Is this a fair assessment?

Pitching in The Show is so ridiculously easy that a player just picking up the game today can have it down in one day. I'm talking strictly about in game mechanics.
Painting the corners is simple.
Pitcher control is meaningless if you master pinpoint-- or even pulse (which I use and rarely miss my spot).Conversely, hitting, even at lower levels, is extremely difficult when everyone has DeGrom, Verlander, etc.
Would it be fair to say that making pitching more difficult would even the enormous gap between pitching and hitting?
Ex. Jake Diekman has wicked stuff, but has always been a 2nd tier reliever because he can't throw strikes.
Yet using pinpoint or even pulse, he becomes a sinker/slider paint machine. To improve the offensive aspect of the game, make pitching as difficult as it is in real life.
Pitchers should miss their spots more often if they have poor control. -
They over adjusted a bit after last year where even good pitch timing would result in a hanging meatball. Hopefully they can find a happy medium

Is this why Cedric Mullins hit a HR off of me even though I put the ball icon in the corner, yet the ball magically drifted to the middle of the zone?

Sounds like a major over adjustment. I didn't play 19 or 20, so I'm still baffled by certain pitchers and pitch locations.

‘20 was a sht show for pitching, ‘20 was a sht show in general, but pitching was the worst I have ever seen it. I gave up on ‘20 in May and went back to ‘19 last year. Off speed pitches were useless they would just hang over the heart of the plate.
If they want to balance the game its simple, remove 100+ attributes, they are the main reason pitching and hitting feel terrible, and get rid of Outlier.

Couldn’t agree more.
I don’t mind batting being behind pitching this year. And I think batting should be the more difficult aspect of the game.
You got to find a way to get 27 outs pitching.
Batting you just need a few good swings to change the game.
When you get to higher levels doesn’t matter what you throw. Hitters will foul off borderline pitches, force you do go further out of the zone. Start taking pitches until they basically force you to throw an action pitch. That’s why in higher competition most players will try to pitch some what to contact. Get you to roll over outside pitches or on top of low zone pitches. The problem with trying to hit dots on the low zones is it’s much easier for a player to sell out by dropping their pci all the way down to hit those pitches.
Some guys are just goons. Doesn’t matter what you throw them.
