I just heard about this game and I looked it up, this game sounds amazing!!
I love franchise mode and I always loved demolishing a team and starting over via trades. I would simulate the games, or use Coach Mode (in the shows franchise mode). Is this game similar to MLBTS's franchise? Obviously it looks more in depth.
What do you all that have played it think? How many seasons can you go through? How is the draft? scouting?
I know alot of people on here like to bully, so I will just finish this post with "I do not YOUTUBE" I like to get ACTUAL peoples opinions, not content creators.

OOTP is REALLY TRULY AWESOME, However it is ONLY for certain kind of Gamers because OOTP is 100% SIM only. It's like playing MLBTS Franchise with either ONLY "Manage Game" or "Sim Game". You can NOT play out the game with doing actual pitching, hitting, stealing, defense, etc. OOTP is for the knd of Gamer that loves Baseball & also loves games like CIv 6, RealPolitics, 911 Operater, X-com, etc. Games that are point & click or turn based. I play OOTP every once in a while when I need my GM fix which MLBTS Franchise does NOT provide for me. OOTP provides 50 seasons of play, options for custom leagues, option to use REAL Leagues from Japan, Cuba, Australia, etc. You can even choose a starting starting season going back to the 1930's & those seasons will have REAL rosters of that season. It's really awesome.
In the "General Discussion" Forum Room I posted a thread Titled "SDS Franchise Checklist" which shares the 10 things I feel MLBTS Franchise needs to make it what it should be. Please go read it if you like & tell me what you think.

OOTP is a massively in depth baseball simulator. There really isn't anything that can compare at all. It can be really overwhelming when you first get into it because there is so many settings and different options. I have been playing ootp since the very first one Markus ever put out. One of my favorite games of all time but it has become a little tedious because of how much stuff there is now.
Scouting is much better now than in the past. Does a very good job of detailing a player you've scouted. Drafts are very good, lots of late pick heroes and loads of 1st round busts. Mixed in is lots of can't miss prospects and everything else in between.
If you really enjoy just running a team and doing the day to day, it's more than worth the money. You can even manager in game and decide on everything there. You can do everything except actually play as the players.

I buy it every year (and usually talk it up here) but never actually put a ton of time into it, opting to focus on The Show.
That said, it is a fantastic game with an enormous amount of depth. The sheer number of options available in setting up your franchise are overwhelming.
And they have access to the entire MLB history. Start a franchise with your favorite team from any year you want.

Yeah, seems highly intricate! I purchased it and can't wait to get into it!!
Kinda reminds me of nfl head coach back in the day!
