Cumulative Rewards, yay or nay?
-
They are awesome, amazing actually, but.... does anyone else feel it ruins the point of trying to get better? The same people that quit every game one season for the rewards, end up doing the same the next season, to the point where they arent even using the rewards, I've tanked a little bit this year but thats so I could actually use the 30 win rewards to make WS with those cards instead of getting the card then waiting till the next season.

The ranked and br programs are possibly the best content decision SDS has made in years. Not only does it give far more people a reason to play these modes, but it also prevented months long wait lists for popular cards at the end of cycle. Huge win and kudos to the content team.

CUMLATIVE REWARDS = HUGE WIN
-
I’m good with the cumulative rewards but I’d like to see the path be a system like br where it is not just win driven but also has some additional objectives.
-
Past 3 years I've quit The Show when Madden/2k came out and started playing less than normal around the beginning of August each year.
It's now November and I've gotten 100 points in BR 3 times and got 30 wins each ranked season along with completing all offline missions/programs.
This was the 2nd best decision every made by SDS. The 1st was being the least pay-to-play dynasty mode in sports gaming.
Sure we get some freeze glitches here and there and some non-PCI HR's but this was the greatest sports game mode to ever be created. MLB The Show 21.

Alright, that's it. I'm trying BR finally. And Events.

my only wish is they make the cumulative reward non-sellable so is discourages players from just quitting out tack up free stubs without actually grinding.

I hear that, and I'd be fine with that (although I did sell Lou to complete the AS collection and to also get Mookie).
I do love this way of doing things, I'm never making WS....so it makes the game more enjoyable for peons like me.

Making them non-sellable would not solve the waitlist issue you had last year.

yeah it'd require you to get wins, that way you'd get the card, you just couldnt sell it. How would that create an issue?

One of the biggest reasons for the WS and BR programs was eliminate permanent million stub waitlists. This only works because cumulative rewards are sellable, meaning much more supply on the market to meet the demand. Making them non-sellable would put us right back where we were last year, and that’s only a bad thing for the community.

I’m not going to explain basic economics to you in detail, but effectively making them non-sellable doesn’t actually increase the supply part of the supply/demand curve, while the demand curve is only mitigated by those who complete the program AND actually want the card. Of course, your argument even remotely works if there was only 1 award card per season instead of the typical 2.

Bingo. I never played BR before this year as there was no point. I'm not good enough to go 12-1. Now I play until I complete each season.

Very rare to hear me say when SDS did something very good. This is 1 of those rare times. But how they did the rewards in ranked this year is awesome because it caters to players whom are NOT good enough to make it into CS & WS. They can get to the top reward choice cards just by winning 30 games during the current season. Upon me having 30 wins i will easily have 90 loses. a 30-90 record will NOT get me into CS & even.less WS. But those 30 wins within the current season will get me choice of the top reward cards being offered. That I must give SDS their due credit with doing right by that. Well done SDS. Very very rare when I can say that & will say that. LOL

They should just make the cumulative rewards in BR and RS non sellable. Will help those who go 12-0. make WS get more for the cards in the market.

They can still sell cards for a million if they’re fast enough. The BR and RS programs benefit people that go 12-0 or make WS too. They can get double the rewards by being good and completing the programs, while people just doing the programs only get one reward. Cumulative rewards benefit everybody.
Not having permanent million stub waitlists is much more beneficial to the community than a small percentage of players potentially getting a few extra stubs.

i forgot that part! Yes I see what you are saying, if there was only one reward, it would work, m mistake.

As someone who will never be good enough to make WS and who has tanked to get to the win threshold, that's fair. Plus, people who get there "the hard way" SHOULD be able to sell that card.

I get my [censored] kicked as soon as I play my second game. First one is a toss-up. BR is where the sharks swim.
