Why the hell are quick counts on in a 3-inning game?!

They should’ve made it a 1 inning game with runners at 3.
We should just have to hit play and you automatically get a win or loss

I'm not great at online but really want to get my feet wet, would this format overwhelm me? I pitch decently, hit poorly online but slowly improving.
No it won’t. I’ve been having a blast. The quick counts give you a “head start” on your at bat. I beg you 2-1 or 3-1 take the pitch. 2-2 most of the time is a waste pitch.
The ppl that complain about it can’t pitch. They just spam the same pitch over and over
Awesome, I mean, I realize I probably won't win a great deal but I have the same God squad Meta players that most people do and could conceivably win if I learn to lay off breaking balls in the dirt and outlier driven high heat.
I got you brotha. Most of the time you just have to sit fastball. Just watch the counts and don’t be afraid to quit out if you run up against a mutant. Don’t worry about meta god squad cards. Try some different lineups until your comfortable with some guys. May not happen quick but I guarantee you will get some wins.
So far Altuve, Minoso and Morgan have been mashing. Good luck

I was complaining about it and I'm not terrible at pitching. I get frustrated when 2 or 3 of my batters an inning start out 1-2. 2-2, or even a full count. Or when I'm pitching and I strike out a guy and the very next batter starts out 3-1. It's totally random. You would think the flow of the game would have some influence. But nope, it's totally random which I'm not fan of.

Sweet thanks for the tips. I tried one game to test the waters and we were tied 2-2 in the 9th and he got three straight singles to win. Not a bad game. I know what you mean about not every card working for everyone. Luis Robert monthly and Bobby Witt Jr. Who admittedly are solid cards did all the heavy lifting while Frank Thomas, George Brett etc just popped out. Tomorrow I'm gonna dive in. Thanks again.

This one is a head-scratcher for sure. Makes no sense to me.
Makes for really quick games. So everyone has a chance at the rewards
Lol there's 3 events to get these rewards. These are already only 3 innings. No need to shorten any further. Might as well roll a virtual die to determine the winner.
If you think that’s the case you’re going to be really disappointed with your results. Having quick counts on only widens the gap between good players and average players. But you go on thinking it’s a [censored] shoot.

I love quick counts and in these 3 inning games it moves things along
Also I feel like it cuts alot of the garbage players try and pull because of the randomness of the accounts

Quick counts should start at 1-1 every time. Ridiculous how random these counts are when we are benefited/screwed from starting with 3 ball counts or 2 strike counts
Stupid programming. Make quick counts 1-1 every AB
-
I’m just using this event to make a lot of easy progress towards paralleling verlander, maddux, Johnson, Gossage, Chapman, and Miller. The wins and packs are just bonuses.

There’s no way they don’t mess with the gameplay sliders whenever they do quick counts on all star. It’s always significantly easier to hit, it’s like playing on veteran. The average runs per event game for me is significantly higher in this event than the last with the East, despite the central having much better pitchers IMO
its due to the quirks some batters may have, pitcher confidence, etc,

I didn't realize there were player perks for quick-counts

Ok smart guy, and why could I not be MORE wrong? Is it because you think you’re better than you really are? Are you a legend in your own mind? Oh you must think quick counts bring the good competition back to the field. You keep thinking that Einstein. When you crawl out of All Star let us know.

I like it but at the same time it is annoying at times. I’m kind of on the fence.

It's a nice change of pace, but quick counts are just different. You just have to go in with the mental game for it. The randomness can really just change things quick. You can be the visiting team and your first two hitters have 3-1 counts or 1-2 counts...that can quickly impact how a game starts. Same thing can help momentum or kill momentum during the game. So far I would say I prefer quick counts on 6 inning games, but I am fine with this every so often.

I haven’t really played events but figured I would since the awards are going for 300 k through 25 wins.
I’m surprised at how toxic the games are considering the streak rewards are horrible.
I’m kind of on a hot streak at the plate right now and it’s pretty crazy how fast I got to 25 wins when people quit out after I put up a few runs….especially with the quick counts.

I have been playing less and less events because of how toxic they can be. The quits are super common...I am often surprised when I score and my opponent doesn't quit. There just really much consequence for early quits.
RS your rating suffers and BR there is the small entry fee and decent rewards for streaks. With events the win streak rewards just aren't that great to prevent people from quitting early. I think most people treat them like offline grinding...just get to x number of wins to get the rewards and move on.
