I love 2K, but haven’t ever touched MyTeam. Is it possible to build a competitive team without dropping cash?
Yes and no. Nowhere near this game. But they run a season for their xp. Level 40 is a solid no sell player. Think the first one is a 96 Carmelo Anthony this year. They also give a couple of players on the way.
They have Triple threat which is a 3v3 mode. Have that both offline and online. Offline is cumulative wins for rewards with some okay cards from there. Also after every win you get a chance to open the vault. A couple of really good cards from there last year. Online they throw some players on there with their bouncy ball plinko board that you may have a chance to get. A few good players definitely came from there throughout the year.
They have unlimited which is the standard basketball mode. If it stays the same as last year there’s a good card released there every season but it’s a grind and hard as hell getting the final reward you better be super good for that.
Then they have limited dropping every weekend which is standard basketball but with caps. Like an event. You get a ring each week then like 6 or 7 weeks get a high card and a couple from there were solid last year.
They are supposed to bring back draft mode so we will see what the do with that.
They also had the ascension board if they bring that back but those cards were pretty bad tbh.
But don’t get me wrong they know how to drop fire cards in packs only to sell packs lol. But if you don’t blow mt on packs you can stack nicely. Sniping kind of sucks on it tho.

I would love to get into the 2k my team but contracts always bother me. I hate games that use them. I'm not a huge basketball guy but I enjoyed the games for the most part. Just have a hard time in the my team.

Havent really gotten into madden in at least 3-4 years and I dont plan too this year. If it was free I probably still wouldnt play it much. The only football game Ill leave for is the NCAA one in a couple of years.

Yea contracts are bad. But the only thing I ever pull of value is diamond contracts so it’s a double edged sword lol.

Madden is a complete [censored] show. It's broken in dozens of ways and the gameplay is almost completely dependent on animations.
Got a refund, back to the Show, and much less frustrated with my gaming life.

Gameplay aside MUT is the worst it’s ever been. That’s my go to game. I like all sports but I am a die hard football fan. Love my team, love to play fantasy football, love dfs, watch almost every snap of every game played and I haven’t touched the game in 5 days. It’s been out like 10 days. Bad set up, bad rewards, bad leveling system, very little content.
Take this game and remove any good rewards from BR, remove live series collections, remove dynamic cards, remove most conquest(especially the repeatable ones) give 100-200 xp per game, remove almost all pack rewards from conquest, xp, dailies, remove topps now, remove monthly awards, remove big sellable cards from inning program, BR and ranked seasons, remove keeping cards from the big sets, remove team affinity, remove player programs, add in nothing of value and you have MUT.
This was me last year. I didn't buy Madden this year for the first time since 1993. It's just so bad now and they are beyond greedy. SDS is way less greedy than EA and have created a model for people to be NMS and still competitive.

Yeah 2k is falling behind. Nobody else even uses contracts anymore and it’s the most annoying part of any UT mode. I get it though, every game has pack fillers like bat skins or name plates in MLB but 5 game max contacts is about as dumb as forcing me to conquer 8,000 extra territories in conquest. It’s just a complete waste of time.
The main difference though is My Team isn’t the most popular mode in 2k like it is for Madden MLB Fifa and TheShow. So 2k makes it money by completely deleting your progress whenever they feel like it.

I had played madden hard for years since I'm an Xbox user I couldn't play the show, now that I can madden doesn't interest me at all.

Downloaded the free m22 version and had to play the free superbowl game and just quit out...just felt like the same game and I

Played both MLB and Madden since 2006, Madden has taken a much more severe decline in quality product compared to this game. Anyone who plays madden for more than 10 hours a week would know the game is more buggy on it's best day than MLB is on it's worst. The things everyone complains about in this game is microtransactions that you aren't forced to buy. You just want to play diamond dynasty without paying the same money it usually costs to have a god squad. So thankfully this game offers a much more immersive Franchise mode. If you don't want to spend money on a god squad then just build one there. A lot of yall are acting soft as hell when it comes to these reviews, when will we be able to say someone just created a decent game? do people not remember where these games came from or are we just so used to having games in 4k quality at 120 fps?? like I beg for gamers to remember where we came from and appreciate what we have today. The game literally looks like it is real life, it what we have ALWAYS asked for
